a card room near my house that opened a few years back and is trying to steal customers from the competition started doing a sunday 10pm- thursday 10pm i think where you get 5 bucks an hour to play any cash game.. and for a 3 hour stretch i think it is everyday i think it was 9-12 you get 10 an hour to play..is this a good way to make money you think? and im from minnesota. there is only limit poker allowed. spread limit is as close as you can get to no limit. usually its a 2-10 game but sometimes 2-60 so blinds are 1/2 and u can raise up to 60 on any given turn. close to no limit i guess but for high stakes players they only have limit.

anyway, would it be worth it to go play like 8am till 3 or so daily at 1/2 limit to get that incentive? also have things like aces cracked and i think max rake is like 5 bucks a hand. if the pot is chopped u almost always lost money though which sucks. then u r expected to tip and all that good crap so thats eating into the hourly rate. just interested in knowing if people would play that and how theyd go about playing it?

What is the rake at your casino here? Realistically, a small incentive like that isn't what would get me to play there. I would imagine that their rake probably eats much of that up as well.

there will might be a difference in the rake, if you are a winning player in limit holdem anyway, so why you should not change the casion getting the bonus for some extra money, also i think there will be a lot donks and fishes around there coming for the bonus

It's hard to get people to fold. More family flops than heads up. The rake I believe is max 5 bucks. I'd usually play the 2-10 spread

Is it Running Aces v Canterbury?

I have never been to RA, but Canterbury Park is on the list of my favorite rooms in the US. They run a great tournament series every year "The Fall Classic"

It seems like a good deal to me. You said $1/$2 limit so the blinds are .50/1? For that game $5 an hour pretty good. For a 2/4, I dont think itd make me play it unless I liked playing limit.

WEC yes it is running aces I am talking about. I used to always go to canterbury and enjoy the tournaments and used to like the set up more but running aces is closer and offered better incentives. i dont like playing limit all that much live. nobody takes it seriously at lowest limits imo. which at times is alright but if you are there for more than a good time its hard to play. havent been to either of them in a year or so. mostly been playing grand casinos poker.
