Playing live 1/2 NL cash at Winstar. Nothing special about the table, pretty much exactly what you would expect from a 9-handed live 1/2 game in that most players have been loose-passive preflop and pretty weak on the flop. Everyone is actually pretty shallow, between $100-$150 behind for the three villains and I cover all 3 with about $175.

I raise on the button to $12 with Kd Qd after 3 or 4 people limp in early and middle position, both blinds fold and 3 of the limpers call. Four ways to the flop with $45 in the pot and the flop is Ad 8d 4s. They all check to me and I bet $26, but I wasn't all that comfortable doing it. I feel like checking behind with a draw to the nuts is wrong but betting a little over half pot as a c-bet isn't great either, because any ace will probably call and I'll only hit on the next card 16% of the time. I'm not sure what I would do if someone shoved over the top either. But checking gives up all the initiative and when a third diamond hits I can't raise the turn for value without giving up the strength of my hand. Any advice on what to do in this spot is appreciated. Thanks.

myself with position i would risk a %40 pot bet after flop to get rid of scragglers, and go cautiously from there sets up good value bluffish bet on river, if you have to shut down on turn

Raise larger preflop on passive tables like this, make it $22 or $25 - with typical casino tourist players the 3xBB+1BB for every limper only serves to inflate the pot, you get just as many players to the flop as you would if you limped.

As played, based on your description, the pot should have been $53 (4x$12+$2+$2+$1), so lead out for $40. A majority of your tourist players will think you hit the A and are protecting against the FDs. Then shove turns that are K,Q,J,T,9,7,6 or a spade.

And one last thing, please please please, always play with a topped up stack!! For a typical $200NLH game I buy $620 in chips, 1 stack of white, 1 stack of red, 1 stack of green and sit at the table with the stack of white, stack of red minus $20 and 4 green, keep the rest in my pocket and I topp up every time I drop +$5 below max stack.
