I played at a little casino called Diamond Jim's last night and the 1/2 game is 100 max. Most of the players are very bad. My table was mostly loose passive with maybe 2 bad aggressive players. To get it 2 or 3 handed I would have to raise 10 to 15 preflop. I was wondering if you need a different strategy than most $200 buy in games or just keep topping it up to 100. It seems like raising and cbetting takes a pretty big chunk out of my stack. but if I raise smaller then there are way too many players in.

You gotta keep it TAG. It's boring as hell, I know, but when you get your big hands, raise pre $15-$20 and plan on getting it in either on the flop or turn if you think you're good.

That's been my strategy (mostly) for my last couple of sessions and it has worked out well. (both $100 buy ins)

That raise size is funny to me cause a $10-$15 raise in my card room gets called 4-5 ways almost every time.

Raise an amount where it weeds out many opponents as dictated by the table.

I would rather raise on the maximum side since you said its a loose table.

can be Very profitable games as a tag,
but what I would stress as important is don't go into the game with a mentality all these guys are loose fish,
assess how they play hands and how they play post flop.

I always ask myself the question, how do I beat this guy? does he pay me off, or do I take dead money, occasionally they might be a half decent player so in general I'll focus on the ones who will call me with Q-K-A rags, or fall for deceptive weakness and bluff

I agree with you but as Avatar crow27 says this can be very boring.

but if you want to make money these fish are perfect jugadore to remove your money and enlarge your bankroll.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to a poker room at my local bar tonight. It's a 2/4 game with a max buy in of $200. The players are probably the worst I've ever played against. There are a few players who will gii pre with hands like 87s. There is hardly ever a regular playing.

My normal game is TAG but I open up a lot on the Button and CO with hands like Axo and Q8 and usually raise limpers with these hands to get it heads up. If the game is loose aggressive I'll just wait for better hands, but if it is loose/passive will I still have to tighten up because of the 50bb stack size?

If the other players let you run over them, then by all means do it. Just don't get too crazy with a small stack.
