Wow, they've already got the user base to draw huge numbers of people, although not many are going there with money in hand.

I'm guessing there will be a heck of a lot of fish early on though.

Its great for poker but it would have made a bigger impact if they would accept US players.
I guess the only thing left for us to wait for is GooglePoker.
If google ever decides to get into this business i guess they can actually start making some real profits not the 1 billion they are making now.

Doh you beat me to breaking news for once!

I believe this is a great sign. It shows huge companies are interested in getting in on the industry, and with gigantic sites like Yahoo advertising the fact that you can play poker online, everyone should benefit!

Giants are already there, they have been investing in places like Las Vegas for years. Only a question of time when they would enter online gambling.

OK, now i'm ticked off! Some sonofabitchgoddamnnogoodthievingunimaginativecrackhead stole my nick

I am crancko1 at Yahoo poker

Sadly not. Seems like what they are launching is a skin on the IPN Network. The network doesn`t allow Americans (for the usual reason - it`s a publicly traded corporation).

Man - I'd love to get in on that. I can play spades and hearts...poker isn't that far off.

I could see my aunt (if Americans could play) putting some money in to "see" - she plays at Yahoo games a lot. "Oh, a new game...I saw this on TV...let me give this a try." Oh - the possibilities.

That would be some easy money.

I haven't tried to register, but I hear they don't accept Canadians either :(

Hmm, you're right; canada isn't an option when I tried to sign up.

Neither is Australia. I guess we're not part of the British Empire anymore.

I wonder if I can pretend to be my mother-in-law in germany? :) Probably not, with a Canadian ISP.

Yahoo's cutting a deal with Boss media right? Looks like Boss network is the place to be fishing, once the deal goes through.

*edit:
Ok, looks like they're in on the deal already.
