I'll be in Vegas in early December for work. Staying at Wynn this trip. Anyone play poker there and have feedback? I usually stay up the strip (Aria, Vdara) so I'm not familiar with the Wynn. I'd rather not play at Venetian (PPA boycott), leaning towards the Mirage. I prefer MTTs over cash games, so any advice is appreciated.

Also, any local restaurants to recommend? I always like to try something local when I travel.

Wynn and fooood

If you've already hit the poker rooms at Aria I don't think it will be any different at Wynn. I've just played once and was unlucky, like most of the time, so you wouldn't be too happy with me giving advice. Very nice atmosphere there, though.

If you're looking for delicious food though I can help! When I was the first time at Wynn we wanted to try the 'best sushi in town' (maybe that's a little overrated, but it's really good!) and went for Mizumi's. As a gourmet looking for fine Japanese and Asian cuisine this restaurant really is the right decision. You should make an appointment though because it can be overcrowded sometimes and you won't get a table unless...yeah...forget it, you won't get a table. Thanks to finding a cheap offer for the night online (hotelscheap.org was helpful indeed) we could spend more money on the delicious sushi and ramen - that is because I'm bad at poker like stated above..haha.
The Terrace Café is also nice! The view of the pool and garden really is something when drinking after-dinner coffee ;)

Enjoy your stay, Wynn is really great and the staff is very nice :)

Go to Wynn's website. They have daily results for their tournaments. Looks like they are getting 40-80 people for most of their daily tournaments. I will be in Vegas in a couple of weeks and will try to play there. Last year, I was with a friend of mine who played a cash game there (I was playing a tournament at TI at the time). He did very well and remarked at how soft the game was (he was playing low stakes no limit).

I'm sure the quality of play varies from game to game, but the poker room itself is very nice.

I ended up playing 1-2 at Mirage on a Monday night (5 tables 3 1-2, and 2 2-5) and spent the rest of the week playing at Venetian 1-2. Much better action at the Venetian. Multiple tables open throughout the day.

Made the mistake of stopping at TI Monday night. There were 0 poker players! 2 dealers sitting there looking really bored, but no players....
