A friend of mine is playing the kick-off $300+$45 NLHE DS event that started yesterday. No word yet as to how he's doing. He'll also be playing the PL Omaha 8 or Better tomorrow at 3 PM. TID Shawn!!!!

"The World Poker Tour rolls into Lawrenceburg, IN. for the WPT Hollywood Poker Open. The Hollywood Casino plays host to 29 events from Thursday 24th March. This stylish art-deco gaming room evokes the golden age of cinema and is a luxurious setting for this important tournament.
"The feature event is the WPT Championship which begins on Saturday 9th April with a $9,600 buy-in and a $400 entry fee, the same as it was last year. It will be the 17th event in the season nine schedule.
"The 2010 Main Event was won by Juan Carlos Mortensen. It was the 15th win of Mortensen’s career and his only triumph in 2010. He won the $393,820 first prize ahead of second placed Musa Mustafa who earned $223,623 and Frank Calo, whose third spot earned him $167,717. The rest of the final table included Chris Bell in fourth, Ravi Raghavan in fifth and Jerry Payne in sixth. There were 143 entrants in total last year and the total prize pool was $1,340,928.
"The 2011 schedule of events kicks off with a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool NLHE event on Thursday 24th March at 12:00 p.m. Other highlights of the schedule include event #17 a NLHE $1500 buy-in on Saturday April 9; which was won last year by Scott Cook. Event #25, another NLHE with a $500 buy-in won in 2010 by Jeff Hargis.
"For something a little bit different there is event #23 which is a Pot Limit Omaha game with a $300 buy-in on Tuesday April 5, last year’s winner was Charles Storck."
