something i like at Everest Poker is that if your registered in a tourney and you haven't logged in after a amount of time you'll be removed. it also applies to those that sitout or "don't respond" for a period of time as well. though i've been playing their briefly the tourney's i've played i've seen players get removed. this is the first site i recall seeing doing this. i played at another site for a bit and pretty much it was all sitouts and when they were the blinds you raise they fold unless they were all in then they'd have a chance to win the pot which i thought was dumb. i'm not the type to do the sitout thing so i like them getting removed from the tourney

one other i played

A while back Milwaukies Best Light had a poker site to play for a wsop main event seat. If you didn't play a hand in ten hands you got kicked out. As long as you at least called the blind, even if you folded the same hand later it still counted. That was a neat idea for it kept people from sitting out and not playing till later in the tourney. Poker seems so much better when there are active players at the table.

I think that's a terrible idea. What if a player needs to go take a crap and it takes longer than 10 hands? He gets bounced from the tournament for a washroom break.

There is nothing wrong with employing the strategy of folding every hand. It's not the smartest strategy, but it's legitimate. Whether you're sitting at the table while folding or away from the table while folding shouldn't make a difference.

Well, I don't know, but I bet Sir Alec Guinness didn't use 'their' instead of 'there'.

To be honest is the person pays to enter the tournment, then they should not be booted unless they have no chips left. I have lost connection for over an hour before and came back and still had chips and won the tournment. Most sites do the auto fold if someone is not there so it does not slow the speed of the game. It might be different if they unregeristired you and refunded your entry fee before the tournment started if you were not logged in.

it might just be with freerolls though at everest. if someone buys into a tourney then ya keep him in. though it's not like 10 minutes and your out it's atleast a good while until your removed. i did a buyin tourney at everest and they kept a "sitout" in so it was probably just freerolls. i don't mind a sitout in a buyin but i like the sitouts removed from the freebees after a long while of non activity

UB used to take you out of tourny after 10 or 15 minutes. They may still do that...not sure.

I have no problem with sit outs, even if it's a freeroll. I know sometimes I may join even an hour late, and have still come back to cash. If people want to sign up and sit out, more power to em.

Pretty sure that OP is referring to 'freerolls' where you'll often see alot of sitters (players who've reg'd. but then never even play it). UB has had this feature for as long as I've played on there, but only discovered it during a CC freeroll.

I'm pretty sure that none of the sites would kick you out of a tourney that you bought in for, especially if you weren't playing at first due to 'taking a crap' (I mean isn't that the usual & most obvious reason that players are sitting out in early levels?... cuz they're 'sitting' elsewhere).

I don't think this applies.... more like a 'shit-out' here as opposed to 'sitout'.
As far as the freerolls go, I don't think the pokersites give a shit if you're taking a shit.

Could possibly be an exclusion in site rules for craps lasting longer than 10hands??

take faster dumps imo

OK-I have an idea for the whole 10 hand crap thing...come out with new button system... Call Raise Fold Sit out next hand Takin a crap

If you click the Takin a crap button you are allowed extra time. They can even add a Fajita button for even more time.

I play some at Everest, and I really hate that you get auto logged out.
You register for a tourney maybe 1 hr in advance, and then you get kicked out like 3 times whilst waiting for the tourney to start.
