Saw this and got a little excited. On the title you should have put "Is Pokerstars coming back to the us anytime soon"

Not for a very very very long time if that. First the US Government would actually have to pass some sort of Legislation. Not sure bout the state level.

I think have this patrially right - PS has filed for online license through Nevada and set up a company office in Vegas, Also they filed for a casono license in AC. These are of course preludes to it's re-entry into the US, though looking like state by state.
I am sure someone can correct or validate this...??? Someone?

I could see something in the way there are multi state lottery jackpots.Players from those participating state would be eligible to play on those sites.A portion of the rake would go to the site itself and a cut would go to the states in the "pool".Does that make any sense?Imput as always is welcome.

sorry for the confusion i was just curious our government is missing out on a lot of tax money.... for example. i won $33,900 on pokerstars i got first place in their $250.000 GTD tourny they taxed me almost $9000 dollars on that. if they had the tax from that to our econmy im sure it would help out and our property taxes wouldnt keep going up....

got chips,
i think you're dreaming, these politicians will tax poker and still raise every tax and fee there is. they are addicted to everyone else's money. take kalifornia and illinois for instance, this is the last tax increase and we will fix our problems. every year same old lie.

I believe it will start on the intrastate level and once the feds realize the tax revenue that they can gain in addition to the fact that they do have the ability to monitor US Based companies only.. they will probably eventually make it to be legal through US based companies where they are able to receive foreign invested (per say) tax dollars as well. Just as if a person from China was playing at a B&M casino in Vegas

I dont think PS will ever return to the USA. They could lease out their software to a different company if online poker ever gets legalized.

thats approximately 27% that doesn't seem to be to unreasonable depending on your current tax bracket. What i don't understand is that if you are a us citizen who with held income tax on your winnings?
