Why do I feel I play different at each site I play?

Hi all, hope u r all well.

I`m sitting in a MTT on Party, so I`m bored :)

Here is how I feel with the sites I play and this may sound like a `online poker is rigged` thread, but its not.

party poker - I feel I always have to play tight and wait here. I seem to go hours without getting a decent starting hand.

Ladbrokes - I always seem to hit and get good hands, so I play pretty LAG

pokerstars - Play LAG but then get sucked out near end of the game. i.e. Pushing with say A8, other guy turns AK - I hit 8 early on. Later, I get KK, push and guy with same stack calls with A3 and hits ace on river.

Full Tilt - Can`t win in a ring game to save my life, can`t place in a SNG, but win almost 35% of SNG`s I enter.

Is it just me, or do other people feel the same when they play different sites???

I also feel like this. I play pretty well on Full Tilt I think because of the graphics. I don't feel like any other sites match Full Tilt's look, and i think that helps me play.

I felt the same way about full tilt, it really seems like I cannot win a sng there. Thinking about it though I dont really like the site anyway and the structure is way different to my usual games at stars.

oh..we need a psychologist to delph deeper into this issue. Why do people play different when influenced by computer graphics :) must be some subconcious thing. I play rubbish at party i hate the grpahics so no longer play there. PKR was a complete joke. great for acting around but then play bad cos its puts you off your game.

Completely agree about PKR downloaded it about 3 years ago.
All that stupid laughing between plays really got on my nerves think I lasted about an hour before wiping it from my pc, too many distractions

I don't know if I fully agree with that. I tend to do better at PokerStars, even though I can't stand their software, and I absolutely LOVE Full Tilt's software, but I can't seem to perform well there at all.

And in regards to the PokerStars crazy suckout trend: I know *exactly* what you guys are talking about. For me, it goes both ways, though. I've lost to absolutely insane bad beats on the site, but at the same time, I've made some absolutely spectacular comebacks with marginal hands when my back was against the wall. I still don't know exactly how that works...I guess when that many hands are in play at once, statistical variance has to rear its ugly head sometime...

I was better at pokerstars before I learned about +ev and -ev.
Now that I know the statistics, and am playing the best poker I can, I get sucked out like its my birthday.

yes, I feel the same.. I agree with Barry Greenstein and his quote "Math is idiotic"

I think that I have to make a bad call for a smallish amount and get lucky to win big. I know that I will lose a lot in the longer run, because I will rarely hit, but I can easily win back that small amounts with picking up many small pots with aggression.

Poker math theory ruined my game, but poker psychology advices helped me a lot. I will start trusting my instincts ,but my brain refuses to do something when I know it's mathematically wrong...:(
