WHY?!!!!

I was in a poker tournament a couple of nights ago. The flop, the turn and the river have already been dealt. Player A goes all in with a small stack. Player B calls with a few chips left. I call. I ended up winning but Player B had nothing! Player A had a decent hand. Why would you call an all in that would put you to a few chips (Like 3 chips) when you have no hand at all?!

Because they're stupid? Or maybe feel obliged to call for some reason. I know when I am SB with rubbish and everyone else folds, I always feel the urge to call just so the BB doesn't get my blind for nothing. I don't do it, but I always feel tempted!

I tried Absolute Poker tonight on a freeroll limited to 2000 players and it filled up quickly. After 30 minutes there were only 600 and falling!

Beacause people don't know how to play Poker, enough said, people are foolish, very foolish.

Well, That depends on what nothing is. He was the short stack right? If he had so few chips that he was already commited then he might have been compelled to call if he thought player A was making a move on him, especially if it got checked to the river. Maybe then he had ace high and thought it was good. I,ve seen some Ace highs win some big money before. Depending on how experienced this player was he might of been a new player or just a bad player. I was in a tournament once and had 4 sixes. I called all in and won the hand. He had KING High, He was a bad Player!! There could have been other factors like if he was already in the money he might have wanted out to start playing in another tournament. I would never do that but all players are different.

poker is a very funny game makes people do silly things.people get bored in games and decide to go all in,if it was a freeroll people dont care.

Thecat hit it on the head people don't care in a freeroll. You know who does care? The shlep like me who can't afford to put the money on a site but has a strong passion for the game.
Keep your chin up and be thankfull for sites like this one that have invite freerolls to weed out some of the buffoons!:icon_fara

I've never done anything that crazy, but sometimes I'll play a tournament very aggressive and just hope to get lucky. Maybe I don't have much time and figure I'll go for it and if I win a few hands, then I'll start playing tighter.

drunk?not knowing any better(alot of first timers play in tourneys online),or maybe giving up and just trying to get out quickly so they can get the oppertunity to loose in another tourney

Hi - Probably because they were tired of playing, figured it wasn't worth continuing, or their favorite TV show was coming on. Those are some of my reasons I'd do it. LOL Just a week ago, I did the same thing. Went all in because I wanted to do something else and I ended up winning 18,000 chips - now that made me keep my interest in the game.

I'll echo an earlier question...what constitutes "nothing"? If I was in a tourney setting, and it was looking bleek to the point of being anted out very shortly, I would play a "nothing" hand. (Of course, my definition of nothing would be something like small connectors. I wouldn't play 52 off under any circumstances, other than a forced blind.)
