So I've been moving between poker rooms for awhile, trying them out and seeing what I like (I've assembled a journal of sorts in my "Making the round" thread), but now I'm not so sure where to go next.

So far I've covered:

pokerstars
Crazy Poker
party poker
Paradise Poker

I'm extremely hesitant to return to any Party skin, because of problems with their customer service. It's been a few weeks since my bad losses at the Prima skins, so maybe I can return now without getting nervous by the interface itself.

Greatful for any input, but please try to be specific about what it is you like or dislike about a specific room. I can't make much use of "noble sucks", as what sucks for you may not suck for me. :)

Edit: Information on Ladbrokes, Absolute Poker and FullTilt is specifically welcome, as I'm currently curious about these sites, but any other poker room you can recommend or warn me about, please do.

You might want to try BosPoker.com (BoS=Bet on Sports) If you sign up at their site, you can also use their sportsbook and casino (if you're into that sort of thing). My husband uses the sportsbook for his football bets; haven't used the casino; but they have just updated their poker site and I really enjoy it. Good graphics, large variety of table limits. I think they have SNGs for as low as $0.10 to buy in! All the way up to $1000. Nine player seats, six-player seats, and of course heads-up-- all available in speed and turbo formats as well. Multi-table tourneys round the clock (freeroll or otherwise).
Haven't gotten around to the ring games yet.

The only gripe I may have is that their online support (live chat) leaves something to be desired...I've come across a couple of jerks, but the last time I used it they were decent. Lot of noobs on the site so watch out for chasers and calling stations--I've have been sucked-out a time or two by these types (but they're everywhere anyway).

My next stop on the poker rollercoaster is pokershare.com they offer a profit sharing plan, the more you play, the more you get, and are a UB skin. seem to have intellegent players.

i like absolute too, but their players tend to have too much of a freeroll mentality for my tastes. fulltilt in my opinion has some of the best software that i've come across

i would also reccomend you check out maybe fish tank or doyle's room, they have some unique tournies with knockout bonuses, maybe poker.com if you haven't already, a lot of cool features, slick presentation

i know that's probably not very good advice, but i don't really know what you're looking for and i think the best way to find a pokerroom that you like is to try out as many as you can. so good luck

Of the 3 you mention I would go with FullTilt GREAT interface good cashout speed. Bonus wager requirements are above average to flat out difficult though! If they would just get the bonus requirements down they would be in 10,000 players online category. NOW Juicee did mention a room I am very interested in keeping an eye on BosPoker! They have some apparently good promotions and are hitting the american market pretty hard with advertising! They just need to automate their promos a bit more instead of having to email support with the specifics of the promo. If I had to pick a relatively unknow room as an up and comer they would be it.

Wow, fast replies, thanks!

Well, Nate has a good point, and that is that I wasn't very specific about what I was looking for, so I'll try to pinpoint it a bit:

I'm looking for a room where I'll make maybe a $300 or so deposit, looking to play the $.5/$1 limit tables and some $10 SNGs mostly. I might make a bigger deposit for bonus purposes, but when I try a room out, I'm not initially interested in hitting higher limits than that. Also, I'm not as much of an experimenter as it might seem; I'm not out to break new ground. But there are many big poker rooms, and I want to try the larger ones out.

Things I find attractive in a poker room:
* Reliable software
* Easy deposits and cash outs
* Enough players to find a game at a limit I want to play (in this case .5/1)
* Fast and competent customer service
* A workable deposit bonus

I have to rank the bonus at the lowest, even though there's some fairly hefty cash to be made from it since I play pretty much at this point. I'm constantly considering moving back to Stars, without any bonus, simply because I'm so very fond of how things work there.

Thanks for the tips, I'll have a look FullTilt and BoSPoker. :)

Cheers,
FP

Oh yeah, one more thing: Juicee, given that CC doesn't have any referals to BoS (at least not yet), if I go there, would you want me to sign up with any kind of refer-a-friend bonus for you? I don't know enough to know if there is one yet, but just in case.

Downloading it now. Saving FullTilt for next round. :)

I signed up with Ladbrokes back in March this year and I have to say overall I've been very pleased with them. Initially I began with the freezeout tourneys of which there are plenty, now I play either $5 or $10 SNG. I've never had any trouble getting a game, however the biggest frustration with Ladbrokes is the Lobby area doesn't appear to refresh quick enough. Now I generally sit at an empty table and wait for it to fill up (which isn't long). I like Ladbrokes as they play both 6 and 10 seater tables.

When I signed up (I think) they gave me 25% bonus on my first deposit, which as a beginner didn't last long so I updated my profile and included a picture. I'm pretty sure I hadn't got 200 raked hands at this time (to qualify for the bonus) but I got it anyway so it's worth trying.

I've only ever used customer service by e-mail and there were no problems there, fast response and dealt with query etc etc. I've only ever had a connection problem once, normally it reads excellent, however I'm on ADSL so I don't know if that makes a difference.

In summary if you live in Europe you should give Ladbrokes a go (I don't think our US friends can use it). Having recently tried other sites, I keep coming back to it.

Hope that helps!

I cant go into great depth Franky as i'm busy at work (LOL!), but i've played at 9 - here's a brief rundown.

Noble, Titan & Betfred. All on same ipoker network. Betfred has best tournaments and support, but Noble and Titan have the weaker players so I tend to play there more. Noble and Titan's bonuses are really hard to clear (especially Titans). Betfred's is a bit easier from memory, but it is all released in one go (i.e if you deposit $100, you'll only get $100 after playing all required hands, not in $10 increments). They've also got big freeroll at end of month if you play enough hands, with a big bounty for knocking out Stephen Hendry. Good access to hand histories for all 3, but MAJOR drawback is the persistant server problems. My connection has improved recently after I bought new leads, but the sites repeatedly crash (usually at business end of MTT's), which has cost me lots of dough. Of course Titan is home of Saturday's CC game.

Paradise and Party you know about - I think i'm the only person on site who likes Paradise! - the cards seem to run for me there.

royal vegas and Bet365 are both Prima skins - very dull interface. I'd choose Bet365 out of 2, as they've got huge freeroll on Saturdays, and a very easy to clear monthly bonus. Wouldn't particulary recommend either though, though Bet365 you can withdraw to debit/credit cards, and switch funds to their betting site.

Carribean Sun Poker - nonetity site with impossible bonus.

Full Tilt - interface can only be described as "unique" (I hate it!). Players are supposed to be good, but i've won most games I played so I don't know about that! Easy to use hand histories.

Pokerstars - again you know about this one. I don't like interface (have problem getting correct bet amount, and seeing who has called /folded etc). I've only played 3 or 4 hours, but is seems the underdog wins a HELL of a lot of all-in confrontations. Good variaty of SnG's though.

Well that's 10, not 9. Personally, if those ****wits at neteller hadn't cocked up my account for the fiftieth time I would try Expekt or whatever it is called that Poo Poo (can't believe I just typed that!) was talking about to see if $100 for 100 raked hands is correct. After that, I'd try Titan so go can play in site games (though ignore bonus)- if you get on well switch to Betfred, and give Paradise another go.

Actually, I very much like Paradise. You might have skimmed my initial post, but I don't think I've said anything much negative about it; it's actually second only to Stars of the ones I've tried so far, and the reason Stars gets the medal is because the lobby refreshes faster, and the handhistory is available during play. That's a wonderful tool.

I've seen lots of TV commercials for Expekt, but actually browsed their site earlier today. I'll get there at some point, I bet.

Still not all the way decided where to go next, although I'm leaning towards Absolute Poker despite warnings. It seems the major concerns are regarding cash withdrawals (and how you can't withdraw below $50), but that should be a non-issue for me specifically.

I seem to be in a minority but i really like pokerroom. Its one of the few sites that i've never had connection problems with and it has lots of traffic so you can always get a game.It is also home to some of the worst players in the world and its easy money for a decent player with a bit of patience. My initial deposit of $50 turned into $600 inside 3 days at the .50/$1 table.lots of tourneys and some excellent promotions make it a site worth checking out imo,and the support actually did their job when i had a question for them.

Another option for you may be UltimateBet or its skin Pokershare. Lot's of game variations and high traffic. I play stud there a lot as a break from hold'em. Play Pineapple ther for the first time a week ago and it was fun (hold'em with 3 down cards, discard one after flop). It's one of the 3 sites I play at regularly...

Sure! That would be appreciated...although I'm not sure if they do that or not either. :ciao:

I happen to like poker.com. They have alot of different tables to play at and the fact that alot of our members are finding out, its easy to set up a private table. I like the fact of a private table cause you set what you want.

Well If you are looking for the limits you say Absolute is not a site I would chose you are quite likely to not even get a game at 1/2! Microlimit site mostly although they do have low, middle, and upper limits the tables are generally empty above 1/2

I quite like Paradise. Id stay away from the crypto based ones. Last time i was there they had shocking server problems. Maybe they're better now but i havent gone back to check. Prima isnt too bad. The Lounge there looks good, plays ok. havent had any connection problems plus they're giving $3 free no dep bonus. I have to say though one that definitely looks curious is stackspoker.

Fulltilt has great software and I really like the interface. Games range from super tight to crazy fish - and at a moments notice. We will be using FT for an every other Friday tourney so it's not a bad next move...

When i started playing, i played at Classic Poker. The bonus was good and cashing out was a breeze, very quick. it's not a large site but the play seemd to be good. they have 6 and 10 person sng's, they start at $5.00
so it's not a cheap but the pay out is good, mulit tables and lots of satellite style tourneys. the cash tables are full and open quickly. The smallest table at Classic is .25/.50 so you can't go so low i.e. .5/.10 If your looking for a site that is solid i'd recommed it.
I've also started at Full tilt mostly to try and sit with the pro's, but alas can't seem to catch them. I enjoy the play there also.
