I have been a user of Absolutepoker.com here in the USA for about 3 years now and, since their change about no more real money games available here, we can now only play free money games.

About 1.5 weeks ago, I was playing my usual nightly holdem games then, suddenly, it disconnected. I tried to log back in but it just wouldn't connect and... it has never connected again since that night. I have uninstalled my program and reinstalled it a few times, and the same thing happens. The network will not connect.

I have written to their support email address and all they keep saying is the same thing: We are aware of problems and our tech support is working to fix them but we do not have a timeframe on when the repairs will be made.

I was wondering if anyone else in here would know more about this with AP. Some folks in the US can still get into it, but I ...along with some other friends here and there, cannot.

Do any of you know what is happening with these people? Would sure appreciate some insight to this. I miss my nightly games. :(

Thanks.

Absolute poker has been dead for a while man...if you are looking to play for money you're gonna have to go to merge for the most part. For fun, might as well play facebook (Xynga) poker.

A new Black Friday perhaps?

This time the DOJ seizes all the play money.

Hey, thanks. But they haven't been down for very long, actually. I've been playing for 3 years and they have only been down (at least here on the west coast of the US) for 1 1/2 weeks.

I'm trying to find out what happened.

What is Merge? Is there a website for them? And can US players play with cash? I thought we were no longer able to play real $$ games here.

No idea about the issues with Absolute. Merge is a collection of sites that pool their players so that you can get a (relatively) larger player base. US friendly, but moving money onto/off-of site can be cumbersome for some players, others have no issues. There are a handful of other sites that still accept US real-money players, too. Cake network and Bovada come to mind. Probably a couple others.

If you are interested strictly in play money games, I believe that you can still even download the pokerstars.net client and play through there. Play money only there, though. I haven't done this, but I believe others here do. If you have a group of friends that you regularly played your Absolute play money games with, perhaps you could get them all back together on the PokerStars play money games.

I am somewhat shocked to hear they were still operating any site what so ever. Is/was this really true. They owe so many players $$ it's hard to believe they would keep the site up and running.

Huh?

What am I missing here about AP? Are they in some sort of current trouble? As far as I knew, all was fine with them.

Would someone please enlighten me with these issues? I am really trying to justify why they are offline for us US people. I've never seen the likes of this 'down time' before with them, and I've been playing there (almost nightly) for over 3 years now.

This is SO frustrating that I cannot get in. Ugh.

Sure would like to know what could be the cause of their disappearance. They may be pulling me on along on some pipe dream here with their recent email replies.

I would suggest you go ask at that other forum.....but wait, they're down too, just about the same time frame for both.

Do I smell a conspiracy?????????

What is Dart? Not sure about this. I thought I was playing Absolute Poker. At least this is what my original downloaded application shows at the top of the window whenever I open it. ;)

What IS Dart??

Why is it shocking? I thought AP was legit. Are you saying that they are in some sort of trouble with the Feds or something?

As far as I ever knew, AP was legitimate. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. And also, I cannot find a thing online about them being in any sort of current trouble in 2012!

Sure would appreciate some help to understand what is going on with them. I STILL can't get in!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. I have Pokerstars on my harddrive, but they are not nearly as nice as AP. AP seems to be the nicest format I can find and their chat interaction is wonderful.

I really want AP back but they are, at this moment, being pretty evasive in their email replies to me. No repair timeframes given is what they say.

I wonder why?

Hmmm....yeah, that's an oddly long outage (over a couple of weeks now isn't it?). I know it's only play money, but everyone does have their favorite sites anyway. Hope it eventually gets back up and going for you.

You might as well stop trying to get in, it's not going to happen. AP is also never going to pay it's players back. There was a cheating scandal in 2007 on AP, with superusers who could see other players cards. Look up Potripper on google and see what comes up.

Absolute Poker Affiliate

I am trying to find some resolution to my problem with AP. I Cannot get a hold of them, and have been an avid player with them for at least 12 years. I have also been an affiliate in which each month they would play me around $300-$400 a month for my affiliates that played, in which they owe me quite a bit now. They always pay me in my poker accou8nt in which I cannot get to. I'm wondering if I will ever see this money as I am supposed to have these players for life, and I do believe they were outside of the U.S. I want my my monedy that's owed, and I want it NOW! From what I see here though they owe alot of people money, and it's not right! If they can affiord those high stakes big jackpots, they can afford to pay the people they owe money to, such as myself. I don't know where to turn, or how I can contact them to get my money, but if anyone can help, please reply. By now, they probably owe me thousands, and if anyone can help me get my money I will give you part of it as a thank you!...I can't say exactly how much b/c I dont know the exact amount, but if it is thousands they owe me, which i believe they do, I will give at least a couple hundred out of it,,, If not, and they only pay me a few hundred, I will still give you part of it for your troubles. I am so frustrated!...It seems everywhere I turn, except betonline.com, which has a million bots on there site, is the only place I can play now in my state. (NY)...Also does anyone have any suggestions on where I can play in my staste? (NY) WTH? We have all kinds of lottery here I don't understand why I can't play a simple game of poker w/o a bunch of bots..is what I'm left with. Cake lets me play on there site, but then tells me, oh we dont accept U.S. Citizens, anymore, go to JuicyPoker, which is basically the same thing as cake. That's all fine and good, but. AP Tells me to download Carbon, then dissapears. so i download Carbon, and they tell me they dont accept players from my state, So now I cannot get a hold of AP To get my money, b/c it seems they have dropped off the face of the earth. I am getting EXTREMELY frustrated! What happened to back in the good old days where I could play on any site with no worries? Wouldn't u think that the government has better things to do than regulating games that could actually HELP Our economy? Anyhow...Just had to get that off my chest, and anyone that can help me, I woud appreciatte it. (Esspecially getting my money from AP) Thanks all, and gl at the tables. Please also, if you will, let me know of any good sites I can plat in my state..(NY).. Thanks all, and God Bless!
