I'm playing on FullTilt and I think that my current level 2$ (multi and single table) works fine for me (after 10 mounths of losing games,I gained 130$ on my bankroll in last two mounths ). When have I to switch to 5$ tournaments?
Please let me know your opinion ...

Continue to play $2, but start play a few $5's. If you feel comfortable and win a few times at $5, then move up. You want to ease into it.

Agree.

The game at $2 is still mainly full of poor play. To have succeeded at the $2 level, your game has to have solidified. That will help you at the $5 and above level.

While BRM theory has it that in an ideal world you might want 100 buy ins for your level, I'm of the opinion that you should be dabbling in the higher level games a bit earlier than 100 buy-ins. Don't go crazy, it will be much easier losing that money than building it up, but both the experience of the higher level game and the fun of a bit more risk should be rewarding.

If you have not played the $5 games, you might be a bit wary of the potential money loss. Scared money game play is your enemy. This will be true every time you increase a level. Think about it. Figure out how you can feel comfortable putting more money on the line WITHOUT feeling like you are risking it. You always are risking your money, tis the nature of the game, but that feeling of fear or panic, or any unsureness about the jump is your enemy.

So maybe while you are successful at the $2 game, you can start to notice things about yourself, and your play there and learn how to create those situations where you know you are in the groove. This is not easy, some find it easier than others, and some never learn it. I often wonder if I ever learned it.

At all levels the game is still poker.

Top right of every page is a tab called Strategy Articles...in there I found this;

I think the normal rule is about 50 buyins but it depends on so many things that really you need to read up on good brm. Personally, I'd play a few $5 games and see how I do. If you don't like it then just switch back after a few and don't take it as a massive defeat if this happens (I assume that it would not crush you in the great scheme of things to lose $20.)

WRT to playing standards, I think you'll still have your collection of player types at whatever level you play. I have played up to $20 and although sometimes you get tighter play, you'll find that players will then loosen up to take advantage of that. Watch a few $100+ SNGs and you'll see what I mean - it's a bit of a poker myth to think that these games are dominated by great players - there are quite a few there with more money than poker sense.

The big thing about moving up when you're practicing good BRM is to never be too proud to drop back to a lower level.

If you have a bad run at the $5, there's nothing wrong with dropping back to the $2 games to rebuild your bankroll, and your confidence at the same time.

BRM is essential, but I would've gone broke a long time ago if I didn't have the discipline to drop back to where I know I can win when necessary.

Well I can tell you...

many pro's would critique BRM at the 5$ level if your BR is over 1K at least any many others would argue that it should be much more (pending what ur playing...Multi SNG / CT)

but u r who u r and do what make u happy and of course when you feel ur ready.

Good luck at the tables!

Try the $5 ones and see how you do in them but my big tip is don't play scared. It's still a same game with same cards and all same rules, money is just a way of keeping score like in sports :p. As you move up limits players get more aggressive and better but there are many fish around to make money.
