I've been playing at Cake poker for about 3 months. The tables I play on normally have the same people there. Recently, there has been this one guy harrassing all the women players. I mean all types of crazy and VERY disrespectful things come out of his mouth. I feel why should I turn chat completely off when there are people that I have met there that I chat with.
The first time I sent Cake an email reporting this. No response. The second time I sent them an email again. No response. The third time I sent an email telling them to please check the chat logs and if something doesn't happen I will not make another deposit. Also, I come to play and not be subjected to this type of verbal abuse. They answered me back saying that everything has been taken care of.
The next day same thing with this guy and his filthy mouth. Long story short, should I make good on my promise? Are there other USA friendly sites that I can switch to? I don't want to sound like I am whining but it's getting annoying.

Sorry if posted in wrong place.

Either stop playing on tables with this guy or go to Merge. As far as Cake's end, seems like the emails aren't getting anywhere, so those are your two options besides turning chat off.

Change your screename. (although I suppose if idiot has a player note on your it will show up?).

Join up at intertops & play same games with new name & hopefully support that actually does what it says it going to do. (Intertops has better & faster withdrawl option too).

'or' sign up at 'ColtPoker' (< <also on Cake network) so you can also play in the O.F.C. freeroll coming up & cash-added tournament ($5 buyin, ~$2k added)... & be sure to represent Cardschat so you can help us get pts. to win a private cash-added game

If you right click on the offender's avatar you can select 'ignore' and you will still be able to chat but you won't see his chat. (You could wait until he says something, then say 'you're on ignore' or 'your chat is muted now', then 'ignore' him and never respond again and he may even give up if he knows you're not seeing it)
It's not a perfect solution though and you should pursue your complaints to support.

Hey I am new to the site! how do I get the password for the poker tourney on carbon poker tomorrow? the cardschat poker tourney?

First, stop asking in multiple threads.

Second, read:
To play in our regularly scheduled freerolls, you must be a registered member of Cardschat.com. Your poker site id’s must be filled out in your profile and you must have 65 quality posts. Once you attain 65 posts you will need to read the rules of the Cardschat Freeroll Club and apply.

Please note that spamming meaningless posts just to get to 65 posts is frowned upon, as is rush-posting in general and spam abuse will only result in you being banned. Examples of posts that are not considered to be quality posts:
• multiple short one liners
• multiple joke posts
• multiple greetings in the intro section
• posts that add no value to the thread they are in or are not relevant to the topic
• giving strategy advice with no reasons or back-up for it
• starting threads on topics that already exist
• copying and pasting any posts

Occassionally we also host special event freerolls. Some additional eligibility conditions may apply to these special tournaments, and vary by event. Visit the Cardschat.com Freerolls section of the forum for details on all our freeroll tournaments.

I love these kind of players at the table, they usually tend to donate.
As far as the trash talk, I don't ever take it seriously and can't understand why some do. They obv. do not know you so what they are saying is nothing personal, they are just looking to throw ppl off of their game.
Good luck to you though.

Yes if trolls get under your skin then by all means block them, I don't think I've ever been on a site that doesn't have this option.:)

I agree completely with Samango

Some Players cannot deal w/ losing or playing badly so they make your life miserable by distracting you with taunts, epithets and such. *ssholes such as these used to cost me games because I got so angry responding and not concentrating on my game that I eventually would get knocked out. Mute your chat (or better yet their chat) to maintain your focus and avoid going on tilt. I normally give a EXTREMELY VILE parting shot followed w "chat off". This reverses the tables because you have the final say, and because they know that you will not hear their response, it puts them further on tilt which is what you want.

Ezekiel, I used to have the same problem - getting distracted by the chats dialog. Eventually learned to play without having the chat interface up. When I do miss the socialization, I go to my nearest brick and mortar casino. Some folks follow an abusive strategy on purpose, just to throw you off, and it is surprising how effective it can be. Although I can't imagine these folks are very profitable given the amount of effort they're investing in trash talk.

Now what's really fun is when one of these douchebags comes to a live casino table and starts his antics. More often than not I've seen players gang up on them and shut them up... not to mention the offending player almost always busts out!

LOL... good stuff... I've gotten a lot more thick skinned to this sort of thing + when the dummy finally does get knocked out I throw a "stfu and get away from the table. People are playing..." at 'em... That normally pulls their nose hairs...:D

Personally I don't pay much attention to chat. While ignoring chat is all that is needed for you to no longer see this crap, it still does not solve the real problem here. Customer service needs to be constantly contacted and others need to contact and complain too.

After this, I would have emailed back and asked why, if this was taken care of, is this still continuing?:
The third time I sent an email telling them to please check the chat logs and if something doesn't happen I will not make another deposit. Also, I come to play and not be subjected to this type of verbal abuse. They answered me back saying that everything has been taken care of.

Change your screename. (although I suppose if idiot has a player note on your it will show up?).
I don't think the OP said they had been singled out, so changing a screen name doesn't address the issue.
Join up at Intertops & play same games with new name & hopefully support that actually does what it says it going to do. (Intertops has better & faster withdrawl option too).

While there are more, not all are viable options for US Players. This too is just another site on the Cake Network.
And, I believe that Colt is just another skin that is owned directly by Cake. So, depositing here is no different than Cake. $500 min to request a check too!
