I am playing a $10 shorthanded SNG at pokerroom and theres only 3 of us left. I have something close to 1500 chips the guy has like 1300. My hole cards are QQ. I go all in. This clown CALLS with 2d 4d and ends up rivering a straight. I was shocked. How could he possibley have thought that was a good move? Anyways had to come here and vent to avoid tilt, lol.

More money than sense if he's going to pull that stunt in a $10 sng. Don't know what the payout structure was, but he may have figured he'd at least recoup his money from the three spot or take a big lead if he got lucky. He got lucky. Still a bonehead play. Sorry.

No money for 3rd, I still cant believe it. It makes absolutely no sense. I mean I could even understand raising me all in for a bluff with those cards, hoping for a fold, but a call? Oh yeah even the chip leader was stunned. He made the
UNREAL comment, lol.

He obviously doesn't value money very much. That was brutal.

I once made a post titled "More money than sense". I've seen this over and over in SNGs so they must have stolen mommy's credit card cause it can't be their own money...

Maybe he put me on 2, 3, offsuit and he was pretty sure he had me beat so he went all in too.

All you can hope for with these folks is to catch him again - they can't perform river magic forever. I keep a list of names by my computer for folks like this and I look for them in the SNGs. I have caught a number of them and it's great satisfaction to pound sand up their arse (notice the British flair)...

Thats a good idea, but the strange thing is, he played normally the whole game up until then. But there was one guy who would call to the river every time and then fold if he didnt have anything. I should have wrote his name down.

"He's definitely bluffing with 23o - this is the best call of the century."

or "Who needs money anyway?"

He probably just doesn't care about losing that amount of money, which really sucks. Still, that was so reckless...I really have never seen that terrible of play.

Maybe it depends on how your style of play was. He might have read something on you to bet the way he did. Just think of how he felt when he saw your QQs.

This guy was a 4:1 underdog, and 3 players left.
He had a flush straight draw with 1 gap.
3 Players, and he just played very loosely cause it is near the end of the game.

Remember this isn't money when he is betting with chips. He may have placed in a recent sng or multiple sng's. So coming in 3rd this time around may have not been a big deal.

I had a similar experience at paradise I was in a tournament and It came up that my hole cards were A J so I raise him, he calls. Then the flop comes A,A,8 So I just slow play and check it he raises so I call. The turn comes to A,A,8,3. I raise, he raises all in, I call him it shows his cards at a 7,4?? Im not quite sure what he was doing, if he was going to "TRY" to bluff then why didnt he just go all in on the flop rather than drawing dead?? The river came and it ended up A,A,8,3,10...He knocked himself out of the tournament on a horrible decision?? beats me?
