I currently am on full tilt but have gone broke many times playing micros. I'm just a beginner and was wondering if there were any better sites for me to start off at and become successful. and why?

I would say either Sportsbook, bodog, or Carbon. Sportsbook and Bodog are mainly people that gamble on sports and try to give poker a shot.

Probably want to go with small sites, not big site like pokerstars or fulltilt. Small site, but make sure they aren't scam sites. Chose small site with good review.

Before today I would have said Bodog...

Today I will say, not Stars.

PTR (or one of the tracking sites) found stars to have a higher percentage (or maybe it was quantity) of winning players. Anyway, they ranked it "least fishy" or something like that.

Sorry for the rambling thoughts... haven't had any coffee today.

Why no Bodog

You say before today you would have said Bodog, why not anymore? I'm just curious as Bodog is the only site I can play on as I live in Washington State and Stars and Tilt won't let me.

Just curious.

Yeah, I just don't really know (or understand) what changes they have made that will affect collecting stats.

I play online for two reasons: it's profitable for me and I can analyze my play w/ PT.

Take one of those away and I'm going somewhere else.

That being said, Bodog is super fishy and I've built rolls there without using PT or HUDs.

Just on the fence w/ them right now...

It really doesn't matter what site you play on if you're one-tabling micro stakes. Just read threads on here and get better.

You do not need need a hud to make money off bodog in 10nl cash tables, or $5 stt sngs, the are soft.
However if you play mutli table sngs, they take forever to fill.
Ultimate bet is also very soft, but alot of ppl hate them.
Carbon is pretty soft as well.

I like Carbon as mentioned before. Small site, ok graphics and fishy players. The freeroll are hard because they go all-in with sub par hands. Good site to learn with.

Bodog or Sportsbook is good. For a beginner, you should play in sites w/ fewer people than a big site like PS

i disagree, i think that for a beginner you should play a bigger site with more people.

more people = more fish = more spewmonkeys = more monies for you

Well I would have to say Carbon Poker because Smaller fields of players, Bigger payouts, and Easier field of players when playing Mtt's (Stay away from Rings Trust me):)

I have found it remarkably easier to grow a roll on william hill's £0.05/£0.10 cash tables than on PokerStars' $0.02/$0.05 cash games. Seems like there are way more maniacs on the Hill willing to pay you off when you hit a hand. I didn't try the lowest of the lowest limits at William Hill, but my guess is they are even softer.
Btw, I started there because I got a free $50 to start with after spending 10 minutes filling in a quiz at some affiliate website, so you can even get started at the micros with a decent bankroll without making a deposit - great for starting out and learning the game IMO :)

Not just william hill as they share tables on same network with Titan, Bet365, Nobles etc.

Go to admit alot of maniacs play there:D.

TO be honest doesnt matter if you find the best site with added money and freerolls, probably best tip learn the fundamentals and play properly:D

Pretty sure williamhill (basically 'ipoker') isn't US Friendly... & reading ur name on here I'm pretty sure you reside in the states.

I say stick with Fulltilt and PokerStars because if u can learn and start winning on the best sites with the best players you will be a better player. I thought the same way, wanting to go to a small site to learn but I thought why not learn from the best. Even though you may loose you can learn from that lost and know what not to do to loose the same way again. PokerStars as the smallest table I know of, so I mean you're gonna go broke but keep grindin til u get it. Play a lot of Freerolls til you start place'n in the money and grind the play money tables til you cant be beatin then hit the micros again!!! I'll spot you 20 if you need it when you think you ready!

Good luck
