Take a few minutes to read my newest blog post at:

For those of us who live in Las Vegas and play poker all the time, the wsop may not be an affordable option.

But the W.S.O.P.? That's another thing altogether.

I have heard about pro players going to "smaller" casinos to play at a lower level and make some money on the side. I think it's mainly the case for cash games tough.

I regularly play at “local” casinos in Las Vegas and while there are certainly some very good players in all games, cash and tournament, I don’t know of anyone who makes a living at poker. The high end casinos on the strip definitely have “pros” in the mix but the stakes are much higher than most local casinos.

There would be so much dead money in vegas around the WSOP, even when the local casino has "poker weekends" with like 4-5 tournaments the local fields swell and if your smart and can stay sober till 4 or 5 in the morning you can just sitdown and print money off of the tilted and drunk fish.
