So given the political climate in many countries as well as more companies "tracking" your location and other data to serve up ads and collect user statistics, VPNs have become hugely popular in recent years.

Obviously many of us have used basic "in browser" sites that mask our location/tracking information and some have used Tor Browser. But beyond that, there are now options that can create a VPN for an entire computer's network data in/out.

Of course for online poker, use of a VPN can create problems up to and including being banned or having an account seized. So my question for those who use whole system VPNs, is there a way to exclude the poker software from running through the VPN or does that just create a breach in the VPN anonymity anyways and make the whole thing a waste?

To be clear my use of VPN is for interest of privacy, not any type of software geographical work around.

TL;DR: Are there VPNs that can be customized to not interfere with poker software but run everything else through a VPN without leaking too much identifying data?

Yes I use VPN . Unfortunately, several poker rooms forbid to do it . Well, the last time ISPs began to block poker sites online . While it is possible to circumvent the restrictions . I think it only gets worse . If you take it seriously . Is not working 8888 and 8844 .

I don't really understand. Use VPN when you want (browse pages) and don't use when don't want (for poker). I currently met only 1 program which create a VPN for an entire computer. Most programs help only to browse pages.

Yeah I've heard some sites like Netflix block VPNs as well. How does your setup work , as in how do you have it configured?

I think You're thinking of a VPN web browser, like Tor, which is great for basic privacy browsing. I'm talking about a full fledged VPN where all your internet traffic funnels through the VPN including App/program data that goes through the internet. If you turn off the VPN for the poker software, you're allowing any/all other data to travel through the ISP without the VPN tunnel which can potentially identify your location, IP, and other data. There may be a way to exclude just the poker software from going through the VPN though but even then sometimes this requires opening ports in which other data could "leak" through, weakening the effectiveness of the VPN as an all around anonymity tool.

These 2 VPN Connections are fully sealed for your computer . The only disadvantage of a time limit . But there are paid services .

You should worry more about the fact that poker rooms usually prohibit the use of VPN if the received address differs from the country from which you are registered. You can get a special permission for this, but by default this is more forbidden than allowed.

Yeah that's my concern. I found one I like that's pretty simple to use and turn off and on. I just have to be mindful of what's running before I turn it on/off.

When working at home I need to connect to corporate vpn, and as it is located in us, I cannot use pokerstars cashgame. So I use PokerStars app from smartphone.

Most programs I met are only for browser, except 1. I meant turn on (for browsing) or off (for poker) in different times. Or do you watch movies while playing? Then you need to dig deep in the settings. Many don't have the settings. And don't forget to turn off Flash and WebRTC. Or VPN will not help you much.
There may be a way to exclude just the poker software from going through the VPN though but even then sometimes this requires opening ports in which other data could "leak" through, weakening the effectiveness of the VPN as an all around anonymity tool.
If you exclude the poker software, only data about the poker software could leak. No? If you don't turn off WebRTC, much more data can leak. Ok you can leave Flash.

How many computers do you have?
How many routers do you have?

You can set them all up differently for separate purposes.

^^^ I've thought about doing this, but I am not hardcore enough to try managing 5-10 poker accounts at once.

I seriously doubt there is a best free VPN , which will make all of your woes go away, so in my opinion, only way you have can get rid of VPN in Poker rooms is by disabling them manually. When you’re done with your game, you can just re-enable. It’s as simple as that.

Anonymity can only be offered by means of a correct VPN. With various things, you're protected. All you've got to do is simply pick a decent VPN and you’ll not have to stress over what you’re doing on the web and what not.

Your browsing data altogether can be kept hidden by a correct service, which is followed by being transmitted over to the server. Whenever a correct VPN service is being utilized, at that point, the Internet Service Provider (ISP) turns into an intermediary. As an intermediary vote – the server deals with majority of the distinguishing proof on behalf of you. Making such a case that nobody is capable of tracking your activities done on the web.

I'd really appreciate if you could kindly please share your thoughts. :)
