I think I got it figured out but if anyone knows for sure please let me know. I play on Hero Poker, and the points are the same as all merge skins as far as gaining them.. but looking at my VIP ledger I realized im not getting all the points for rake it says I should.

Ex: Played an $11 MTT so $10+$1 rake so I should get 10 points. But the ledger says I was credited for only 6 points.

I have 35% rakeback on the site so does it take that from the points, It makes sense if that is the case.

You're right, if you get rakeback, then you will not get the full amount of VIP points.

is hero still part of merge? i play on BCP with 35% RB and only get 65% credit for points. so if its the same on hero then you should get 6.5 pts for $1 in rake.
it sucks for promotions like race to riches, 125 seats to $125k and clearing deposit bonus.
whatever, i still prefer to have RB.

Rakeback by far. Especially on Merge. You will make way more in rake than you could by purchasing anything in store, and even using points, you're getting about a penny a point(point spending wise) whereas when you are getting points plus rakeback, you're getting .35c rakeback and .65points for each "point" you would normally earn. So you will still build spendable points, but also get rakeback.

Actually it depends on the volume you play and rake you contribute. It's similar to Stars who didn't offered a standard rakeback plan but paid out handsomely to the higher VIP tiers.

For the more casual lower-volume player, rakeback is going to be best. The 35% rate is constant and there are no goals to reach and volumes to maintain to keep it.

However if you're a serious volume grinder and can achieve the higher tiers of VIP and maintain them every month, then VIP is best. VIP points are good for more than store purchases (which is a horrible way to spend them). Not only can they be used to buy-in to a lot of MTTs, but you can cash in VIP points. So at the higher VIP levels, you can earn something like 40-50% in rake rebates compared to the standard 35% rakeback. Thing is you have to earn and maintain it every month or you lose it again and have to grind it back up.

You're right D, I forgot about the cash redemption, but still rb will be better for the vast majority of constantly medium or low volume players

Alright, since we're getting into rb/vip questions...... Is it still possible to have only 1 rb account on the entire Merge system. I'm currently only on Carbon and am on the VIP system. I'm going to be joining Hero pretty soon and will likely go with a rb deal from them. Question is, can I have rb at Hero and still convert my Carbon acct to rb, too. Carbon offered the ability to convert to rb some time ago, but I just never took the opportunity to do it. What about it? Anyone out there have rb on more than one Merge skin?

cool, thanks for the answers :) rakeback will be better for me still since im not high-volume player at all it just got me wondering :p

@rudy yes you are right you can only have one rb account on the entire network still so you wont be able to get rakeback on carbon if you get on hero

Right, you can only have 1 RB account across the Merge network. And in order to transfer it to another skin, the existing RB account has to remain dormant (no play at all, possibly no login even) for either 60 or 90 days, I don't recall. Then you can request your RB be moved to another skin.

Good to know, but since I never had rb on Carbon (or any other skin) getting it on Hero shouldn't be an issue. Thanks.

Check heros vip rewards before you decide if you want rakeback or full point credit, they have a nice reward system with cash bonuses and rebates and rakeback will make it harder to get to those nice higher level bonuses(what im dealing with right now)

they have 300 levels divided into 7 divisions, there higher levels offer a nice point cash in system, highest being 45%
