The machines on the floors keep revising the way they give out winnings. It used to be that they would drop the chips / coins every time you won. Then you would starts again. Now I see more and more that they are becoming "credit based", keeping your winnings on credit until you decide to cash them out. I suspected that this was done to keep the player close to the machine, and possibly lose what you have won when thinking you are "on a roll". The service manager assured me that this was not so, but then I saw that the newer machines also offer "streak bonuses", in other words encouraging you not to cash out your credits. What do you think is the optimal way to make a profit out of these machines? Has anyone here also encountered what I described, or can you refer me to a source about this issue?

There really is really difference between giving you cash and credit - as long as it can be taken out at the touch of a button!

An "on a rolll" bonus will probably be a good idea!
Whenever I see somebody use these machines (I am sure others would have seen the same), they seem to win some money at first, only to put the money back in to the machine until it has all gone! So if they think they can win more by continuing playing, it would be inticing to continue so ultimately, the machine will probably make more - people just dont know at what point they should cash out!

When I visited Arogsy and the Grand Vicotira last week, they are both now electronic, NO COINS what so ever. Everything is based on dollars and credits. They do this because when people play slots for change and win their change is dropped on the bottom, so say you take $100 in quarters and win a few here and there, your not going to take your change out of the bottom untill your out of quarters, and by then you will be ahead. So when its all said and done you walk away a winner.

Now if your playing and you have no change at the bottom, but you have the credits in the machine, your going to keep playing until you win more.

Its more of a physiological thing if you ask me. I know when I was ahead I told myself to cash out and take my ticket to the cashier, but I ended up staying and losing what I won! If I had the change at the bottom, I would have stopped once the change in my hand ran out!

Once they have you sitting in front of a video poker machine they have already won. If you are there for any reason other than to have some fun while pissin away your money you are there for the wrong reason. I have come home from Vegas ahead the last 2 trips I took & I piddled with slots & video poker both times. Wanna guess whether Steve Wynn or I have the bigger house? :D

the best way to profit from these machines is to NOT play.

I hate those machines both slots and video poker have played them twice losing 30-40$ in less than 20 min each time. They are also boring to me. Id rather play craps, black jack, or roulette. Roulette has worse odds than the other two but i love it. even when im losing im having fun at the roulette table.

I would guess the casinos swithed to credit based for security reasons and profit. People probably blow their money almost twice as fast on these all u got to do is press a button. I would guess this can be done alot faster and esier than traditional slots, which equals more money for the casino.

Those games are too tricky. I prefer table games anytime. Machines have the worst odds.
