I registered three weeks ago on pokerstars , and also uploaded my id to complete verification on Pokerstars so I can also withdraw money if needed.

After three weeks the verification is still not done. Support is saying the my request if on a waiting list but they have a large number of emails to answer so they can't say when the verification will be done.

Does it always takes so long on Pokerstars ?

PS I'm living in Belgium

Hi.
In my case, this check lasted about two weeks. I provided documents for the identification of my person and a receipt for the payment of utilities. It all went smoothly. You need to be patient.
Good luck.

Hi.
No. It is strange. It took me 48-72hrs to upgrade my info due to a change the country of living. But i've requested to contact me by phone. I think they have life chat window as well. Try some where in the lobby to find, but you must be logged in . Keep contact with the person who chat with You and Will go faster.

The process sometimes takes about a month,no matter where you live.additional documents may be required scans of the passport in the presence of a driver's license.in General wait for all will be fine, have time to win all.Good luck.

For me it took around 2 weeks and they requested several different documents and did not approve part of them initially. It is rather long process so it is good to do it in the beginning and not later when you want to withdraw for example.

Hello.
I also have a verified account on PokerStars. The verification process lasted about one month. The security service required a lot of documents from me. But after a month my identity was confirmed and now I have no problems with withdrawal of funds.

What documents does Pokerstars want to let you play from another country. Is it as simple as logging in from an ip address from a country outside the US??

Also, if I am a US citizen, playing on PokerStars from outside the US. Can I set up a bank account in canada or mexico and receive my withdrawals in one of those accounts??

I see Poker Pro Jeff Gross often going to Canada or Mexico or the Bahamas and staying in hotel rooms to stream and play on Party and PokerStars, so I know it must be possible. Maybe you just have to be a highly visible Pro to get the attention to allow this??

Hi. It doesn't matter if you are US citizen, as long as you play outside US. Pokerstars have software wich dettects ur IP and Will redirect u to the country of where u LogIn. But if u open a real money Account in Canada for example, u must have canadian bank card & account, canadian address,(no matter if ur passport is American) proof of address (no older than 6 months) such as gas, water Bill or sattelite tv invoice.Bank statement also help, coz the address wich is sent to is shown on the top right corner and serve as proof of comunication with the bank.
Good Luck.

P. S. If You have any more questions, Feel free to ask. Ill do my best to answer and help. :deal:

I recently created an account on Stars. Verification of documents lasted less than a day. I'm surprised your inspection took so long.

I wonder if the address verification, i.e. utility statement, bank statement, etc.. is just for withdrawals or if it is also for opening an account. I can see the difference in requirements for opening and making a deposit and a new set of rules if you want to make a withdrawal.

I also thought that the real reason for these rules is to keep people from playing on Pokerstars while they are physically in the US. I see that US residents can and do play on their site while playing on there site from outside the US. Why do they care if I have a residence or not outside the US, if they are not breaking any US banking laws, i.e. sending my withdrawal to an account that is located outside the US??

Normally, no checks can take 3 weeks. There may be a big chaos at Pokerstars. I don't think so many people sign up for control for several weeks. Weak excuse, but you can't do anything but wait.

the requirements are for both. Dep & withraw money.
US gov got agreement or New law (im not sure) for/with PS. Its about something about the taxes as far as I remember something. So... They didn't Hot to agreement and PS lost chance to have US citizens as real money players.
If somebody knows Exactly what happened in case Im not right, please share info.
Thanks.
This link Will give u more info.
