I primarily play at Carbon Poker and Cake Poker and wondered if anyone has experience playing on these (or other sites) utilizing an ipad rather than a computer? Don't want to waste a lot of time researching the subject if others can provide helpful feedback. Thanks.

???

You can use an iPAD for poker, pokerstars just introduced an App for it.

OP: I've used the iPAD for pokerstars and must say it's actually quite good, just a novelty more than anything else though. IF you can carry an ipad around places with you, then you can use a notebook which isn't much bigger but much easier to use for pokers.

you can connect your ipad to your computer and then use your ipad same as your computer, that means after connecting both the device you will be able to see your desktop or laptop screen on your ipad and play all the poker client on ipad ,best poker site is www.switchpoker.com which you can play real money and most of the people are online by phones or iphone or ipad , i do play at switchpoker , they have only ring game , no SnG , No tournaments

mm, bit of a gimmick more than anything else.

pokerstars app is good but only being able to 4 table sucks!

think its only pokerstars and titan(?) that have it.. but if you have to connect to your computer to play, why not just use your computer?!

I know companies like GoToMyPC advertise that you can access your home computer from anywhere via the iPad. You can run programs on your home PC, so you may be able to play poker on it.

There are free programs that will let you access your home PC, but I don't know of any that let you do it from your iPad.

Not quite. An iOS app is completely different from an OSX app and will not run on an iPhone or iPad.

I was really just responding to the fact that iPads/iPhones are not the same as a Mac computer and also that the mobile devices did not have compatibility with the Mac versions of Merge/Cake/bodog, not that there wasn't any poker available to it.

I was play playing around with Wyse Cloud software. It controls your computer from your iPad. Just a little bit of time delay, but I may try it sometime. Not sure if I'd be comfortable doing multitabling on it though.

it's a bummer since pokerstars only have clients on ipad availble only for the UK, ireland and Spain while the rest of the world will have to wait it out... :( would be nice to get to play it some day...

Not great news. I was hoping Carbon or Cake had an Ipad app. Why I desire to play on the Ipad is so I could easily play outside when nice weather arrives. I've used the Ipad outdoors and can make out the display, but not so on my laptop. May look into an app to run my laptop from my Ipad.

I don't understand the point in being able to play on Ipads. The only time you would want to play on an Ipad is when you are travelling, but under those circumstances you shouldn't be playing real money games anyway. You wont be able to focus, but more importantly if you lose internet connection which is all to common, you could end up losing pots.

Actually, the reason for playing on IPad is because I like the idea of simply taking it outside to play when weather is nice. If playing while traveling I wouldn't be playing money games.

i use an android tablet to play. i play using a RDP client and have one or two tables open. its usually what i do if im just wanting to sit around without having my laptop in front of me, or at school inbetween classes, etc.

just other random fact, i sometimes play one table on my phone, one table fills the screen nicely and its just large enough on my 4.3 screen

mobile poker

My question is why we do not see any mobile gaming coming en masse? One of the reasons might be the parts that Apple have been the leader in the smartphone market for a while and iTunes appstore has not let all applications through. But html5 should be able to do a lot of what flash used to do.:knuddel:

You can play Texas HoldEm on the iPad with Pokerist Texas Poker as the have a pretty cool app. I play it all the time it and love it. I think they just updated it with a new sweepstakes where you can win a new Mercedes Benz for downloading the app.
