I signed up and deposited, taking advantage of the 100% deposit bonus for using bitcoin. Logged in, and the first thing that I noticed was that there are no microstakes tables. The lowest stakes they have for ring games are 5/10 NL. The lowest buy-in tournaments they have are like $1.55 to enter.

As it turns out, the deposit bonus wasn't for poker money. Instead, they give you money for sports betting. Which you can't actually use unless you deposit more money for sports betting

At least it was only a $50 test. Just stick to ACR. They don't play these stupid games.

You have to transfer from sports to poker. It's an option in the cashier.

Never been a fan of betonline. I agree. I don't like how they don't have microstakes for people with smaller bankrolls etc. ACR seems to be the best option for US players. Thanks for the insight,

Tried that, but alas, it did not work. I was simply misled.

It didn't work? how do you mean? Like you tried to transfer from sports to poker and it wouldn't let you? I had to get assistance to figure out how to do it. If it doesn't work bet on a football game or something and if you win I know for sure you can move it to poker.

I know nothing about sports, so it would be a pretty random bet. That was actually my first thought when I found out about this nonsense. Turns out they wouldn't even let me use the bonus money unless I deposited some of my own money into my sports account. I'm not about to give them more money after this fiasco, so I'm just calling it a loss at this point, and spreading the word since support wouldn't help me.

There is NO way that is true... I've never deposited on BetOnline and they sent me $25 as a gift or whatever and I bet on the Browns a few weeks ago when they won their first game in years or whatever. it paid me $21 and I transferred that to poker. Have you contacted their customer support, and asked about this? I know you are writing this off, but I'm furious and it's your money lol I hate when sites don't hold up there end of the bargain and this just doesn't sound correct. Something is off here.

I typed everything up exactly as it happened. When I tried to place a sports bet, I kept getting insufficient funds errors. Support told me that I'd have to transfer money from poker to sports in order to use the bonus. They even had the gall to offer me entry to a freeroll if I deposited more money into my poker account xD

So the bonus funds are in the sports account right? they say you need to transfer the money into the sports account to play the free money. have you tried transferring the money (your deposit) from poker to sports, making the sports bet with the "bonus funds" and then transferring the remaining balance (your deposit) back into poker?

I did not try that, since I didn't want to risk my poker money. The bottom line is, I shouldn't have to. The code I used when I deposited I got straight from the betonline site, and the banner said in big, bold letters '100% bonus for using crypto!". It didn't specify that the bonus was in sports betting money. I assumed that it worked like every other poker site that I've ever used, and that I'd get the bonus money in my poker account. I feel very misled. Support was no help, so here I am to let as many people as possible know not to use this site. ACR also accepts bitcoin, and they aren't nearly as shady.

You're not risking any of your poker money. I understand your frustration just trying to help you remedy this situation. If you transfer your poker money to the sports section you don't have to spend it just have to have it there while you make the bet with the bonus money then transfer the money back to poker.

I've already pulled out my money and closed my account. Just trying to spread the word at this point.

agh.. I see. Sorry that happened. I just play free rolls on Bet Online. Hope that ACR, ignition, or Global fit your needs. Those are the only other decent choices that I've found.

The OP should have looked at the site mechanics much more closely, entered some forums and asked some questions and asked support some very specific questions via chat, online and by phone.
I made many mistakes because of my ignorance regarding how certain sites worked but I learned. After I understood and I encountered issues THEN I would start "letting out the word."
Some issues can be ignored but issues regarding financials need to be transparent.:captain:

I didn't care too much for betonline but it's an option in a small pond of bad ones for US players.

I played tournaments on that site and fared poorly in the long run. I tried there Casino Video Poker for fun, won at first, but never won a dime after that. Not random, their take is much higher than 5%.

They used to offer a ton of freerolls, daily. And have 2nl and 5nl. I'm not sure what their long term business goal is. but it's askew. Why did they get rid of microstakes tables????? WTF. They do offer some good low buyin guaranteed...

I hate that you had a bad experience. I had betonline on my computer for freerolls only but I just didn't care for the site in general so I removed it. I love ACR and I think it should work fine for you if you don't already have it.
