Hey All

I was looking into getting back into online poker. I saw that Bet Online claims US players can play real money games. How is it they can allow that but sites like poker stars and party poker can not? Can someone explain how they get away with it at Bet Online?

Also can anyone give me details on how easy it is to withdraw money? I saw on the site you need to provide a bunch of verification stuff first?

Thanks for your time

From what I hear, the legal stuff is so f--ked up that the big companies and public companies pulled out of the US just to be safe. The jury is out on "how illegal it really is." You can play the lotto online in most states. Some let you play blackjack and slots online. There are a lot of us that think the Big US casinos pushed the legislation through because they were so far behind the International companies in getting traffic and generating software. The small companies and privately owned companies felt the risk was worth it to gobble up market share that the big sites left behind. I made a deposit on betonline and did it from WA which has the strictest rules in the freakin world as far as I know. The money made it no problem with a debit card.

**that said, I WOULDN'T recommend betonline, the rake is 10% every hand even without a flop. Try one of the other skins on the chico network*** Other options are cake network(my fav), Merge(biggest), bodog(not bad), and winning network(i haven't tried). Youre gonna have to do a money transfer for most of these which is sketch but it works if you can just remain cool and send that money to the Philippines.

If you really don't care and just wanna play a few tournaments now and then, by all means go for it. I never had problems with the software on betonline, but it is ugly.

Would be nice if the US just worked it out so casinos themselves can start putting together online poker. That way you know you will always get your money without big fees. I can only imagine a company like the one that has the borgata would create online poker if they could in a heartbeat. And nobody would ever have to worry about getting their money back.

I am thinking of trying American Cardroom. My biggest concern is not getting the money in it is taking it out. Everything I have seen though says American Cardroom is the best when it comes to getting you your money.

This is, more or less, what's happening. The big casino corporations are allying themselves with various existing online sites in hope of scoring big when/if the market is re-opened to US players.

I've read a lot bad things about BetOnline on here, but I have had good experiences with them. Not hard to deposit (which not many sites are) and I found the withdrawal easy. I sent in for a moneygram in the AM, it was approved in the afternoon, and I got the money that night. They charge ridiculous withdrawal fees, except on Fridays. If you send it for it on a Friday between 9AM est - 1PM est you will have little to no fees, (just have to include it in a note.) Also you only have to send in 3 documents (ID, a bill, and a pic of the card you used to deposit)

Don't play the tables any but as far as there tourneys, they run good re-buys with guaranteed money. Not a lot of action on the SNG's unless you are into DON's.

Hope this helps!
