I have tried to play in the free rolls on pokerstars. It says you cannot if in the US (no money games whatsoever). This also include CC freerolls? I imagine it does, but I wish to leave no stone unturned, lol.

You are correct, NO money games whatsoever! This would include any CC real money freerolls.

USA can only play in "play money" games. Blame the DOJ.

On April 15th, 2011, the US government took control of the www.Pokerstars.com domain name, along with the domain names of several other US poker sites. Pokerstars - owned by Entertainment Enterprises Limited - cut a deal with the U.S. Department of Justice in order to get their domain name back. They were back online very quickly but from that day forward they blocked Americans from their real money poker tables. They also refunded all balances to American players.

No, it was the doj. I'm just sad I missed all the tournaments, sigh. Why did I play micro cash while 3 dollar 30k guarantees were around. Now you have to play a 30 dollar plus tournament to get that type of guaranteed money.

The United States DOJ seized bank accounts in the United States. They seized the .com domains because .com domains are registered in the United States.

Pokerstars is based in the Isle of Man, which is next to the United Kingdom.

The DOJ is not running Pokerstars nor did it shut down Pokerstars.

Pokerstars CHOSE to block US players because they WANTED to get in the DOJ's good graces in hopes that they could legally return to the US market one day.

Let us hope the plan to purchase a failing land based casino on the east coast is not tanked by big-money afraid of the competition.

You can play on Pokerstars for cash if you have a REALLY long ether net cable.

:p

But seriously, I'm still on the .com version. It's the best way since it has all the functions such as the search feature and avatars.

Yeah don't do this -- get the .com version. The .net client is feature-crippled.

Because they maintain a residence and play from countries where PokerStars is allowed. Ivey has a residence in Cabo San Lucas, mexico. Many US pros relocated after Black Friday to canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas.

Actually US poker players are not allowed to play money games in Pokerstars. But the group responsable for Pokerstars are making partnerships with some US casinos and they are trying to, in some states, have permission to that local players play in Pokerstars.

You can use a shady vpn or something like that if you wanna pay a lot of money and probably never get your money if you win anyway. So, let's just go with no.

I strongly suggest using a VPN the worst case scenario that only happens more then 95% of the time is pokerstars seize your entire bankroll and donate it to charity.

I believe its called the Amaya Debt relief fund.
