I am wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to the best site to load something into my account on? I am from the US and while I am not intending to deposit a lot, I would like to know its secure and a reputable site. I used to use pokerstars and UltimateBet at one point in time. Not sure if those are still worth using after over a decade of not using them.

Neither of those sites are US friendly, and UB is shut down due to a scandal.

Americas Cardroom, Bovada, and BetOnline are the 3 most reputable US friendly sites. I am becoming a fan of Full Flush, a smaller site but the GTD tourneys are solid.

My recommendations are Black Chip Poker/America's Cardroom, and Bovada.
Bovada has a constant flow of traffic, which I like. Tourneys and cash games are always available no matter what stakes you want to play. The main difference is that in Bovada, all players are anonymous, and in BCP and ACR, every player has a username, and you can take notes on them that will stay there forever.

I played poker stars/Full Tilt and a couple others until the Government Shut us down.....
It took me a long time to find an honest dependable site.
I highly recommend Americas Card Room.If you wait a week to ten days they will send you $5.00 to get started. (if they are still doing that promo). I just cashed out $350.00,it took 2 weeks to get a check from canada but it was issued in US Dollars...To me that was a respectable turn around once I requested the cashout. Again highly Recommended.

Just know this--it's not the good old days. I do not recommend bovada. ACR is doable, but there are issues. This being said, it's likely the best option. Black chip poker is on the same network as ACR, the WPN network. I've never played there, but it seems legit from the talk on this forum. Like another member said, I've just started on Full Flush and it seems OK so far. I got a cc deposit on there. That doesn't happen for me on acr, but bitcoin seems good after some initial setup. I've steered clear of betonline after my own research. Carbon is also an option, but apparently payouts are sketchy. I think there is also True Poker, but I don't know anything about it other than it is also on the WPN network. I also downloaded swc poker, but have only played in their tiny freerolls. It's bitcoin only. I don't really like the software there, but they have the biggest mix of games. Makes for fun freerolls for like a 25 cents lol.

For new US member I always say to check out Full Flush Poker because they have the most worth wild freerolls to play before you decided to make a deposit.

I am wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to the best site ... I am from the US ... I would like to know ... secure ... reputable site. ...
SofaKingGd I believe you are safe to go with any site CC recommends. Check out the "US poker sites" link at the top of this page. You will then see all the sites CC lists.
One thing about BetOnLine (and somewhat less FullFlush too) in their freerolls, before first break, no matter how good your cards are, a lot of most improbable and unlikely suck outs happen on the river. After first break it seems a little more real. GL

These posts get frustrating, no one bothers reading a few threads, there is ample information about where to play and what perks each site has.
