Well tonight I played in 2 500 player tournaments one for £22 and one for £11 entry.

Determined to concentrate and play nice and tight and make it to the break with a somewhat average stack was my aim to start.

Things don't always go to plan though, cut a long story short finished a few mins before the first break in both coming 203rd in the first and 208th in the second.

So well what a waste of £33. Feeling a bit peeved about what had happened I decided to try my luck in a sit and go. I havn't played one in a while and saw 4 people sitting at a £22 entry table.

So I sign myself up and cut a long story short I won the thing. I did have the chip lead for the final 4. Got to heads up and he doubled up on me twice, couple more hands and I had the slight edge on chips whilst still about even. I raised he blind, he went all in and I called. My K7 against his A9 and it wasn't looking good. Still the King came on the turn and £100 makes it way into my account for first place.

That makes me £45 up for the evening, nice to know I can win if I play my game properly, even if I did get lucky in the last hand. ;]

I don't normally go in with K7, I thought he was pushing to steal the blinds and we were heads up for the final 2

For example one of the hands I went out on with the other tourny I had QK suited UTG and limped in. (Going in for a raise generally meant someone behind me would go all in over the top and I didn't want to comit myself to the pot that badly at that stage of the tournament) There was one other limper and the BB. Flop came out JKK so that gave me top set with second best kicker.

All I then had to fear was either AK or KJ with 3 of the Kings accounted for I thought that it was unlikely for someone else to have those hands. I pushed in a pot sized bet and got a call behind me. Turn was a 9 I went all in (I only had about 1/4 of the pot in chips left) got called and he turned over AK.

I have finished in the top 5 a couple of times in these and couple of days ago I was 35th when my pocket Queens went all in preflop and got called by A10 and there was an ace on the river. Winning that would have put me in about 5th position and a good chance of at least a couple of hundred.

Not a bad result at the end of the evening, considering your positions in the actual tournaments. Well played in the Sit N Go, maybe these suit you more as a player than the larger tournaments. Luck always plays a part in poker and it looks like after your bad run of luck in the tournaments, it came along in your sit n go (perfect timing) :)

Sounds like an awsome win man. I know when I won a 750 entrant tournament, I got a number of lucky hands that alowed me to 1) Stay alive and 2) win (my K7 vs his KJ)
