I never see anybody mention anything about UB. So, I'm just assuming that not to many people like to play at that site. Are those bad beat jackpot games worth playing in and have you or anybody you know ever been at one of the tables that had a bad beat. Just curious

I think the bad beat jackpots are like playing the slots, you need to be very lucky to be playing when it hits.
The cash tables I do like though, they are soft and easy to build a br on, they just have a lot of rude big mouthed players.

We've had a couple of big BBJ winners on this site. If you can play and table select well enough to beat the jackpot rake, then yes, they're worthwhile. The jackpots hit most often at $50 NL because there are more hands dealt there, but payouts are bigger when it hits at other levels because fewer players split them.

In my experience, the best time to play is at off-peak hours (after midnight Pacific time) and when the jackpot is high (between $200-$300k) but not super high. That way you'll get paid decently if it hits. When the jackpot is huge it attracts craploads of players, and your best hope of making money is taking advantage of those who are only thinking about the jackpot and playing suboptimally because of it.

If you're multitabling when it hits you'll thank yourself, but don't lose a bunch chasing a jackpot because it's a long shot.

The superuser incident at UB has quelled the UB talk around here, but I bet plenty of people here still play there and don't admit it. (not me, no roll there)

I will admit it.... I play UB. I play there because I like thier MTTs though. They have good options for MTT during the week and a 200K Sunday tourney that the comp is pretty soft to start and gets pretty solid by mid $. Overall I think the site has a good amount of intermediate players that are not winning players but are not complete fish so it makes things interesting.

There is less traffic so the good news is I have found it easier to tell who the sharks are as I have played them before. At FullTilt I am still having trouble distinguishing between sharks and fish as I dont play the same people very often.

You also have/had good options on deposit there. I was able to use a CC to get me started but that was about 1-2 years ago now so not sure if still works... Cashing out is also easy and you have a few options.

I would recomend checking it out if you want to learn to play or want a change of pace. I dont think it is a site where you can exclusivly make a living off of though. Just not enough traffic.

To each their own but I would never play there. The Superuser incident has never been fully resolved. Lots of players were not fully reimbursed. As of right now there is serious talk of a class action lawsuit.

It is unclear who the owners of the network are and there is some evidence that some of the original owners (from during the scandal) are still involved in the site. Also, they are currently having a (by their standards) minor scandal involving their casino and a possibly flawed RNG in their Keno game.

I don't want to post a bunch of links to 2+2 and other sites without permission but do some research. The scandal is not really behind them.

While I doubt that there would be any chicanery in the level of games most people here would play (micros) be careful.

I play a bit at UB and dont mind it. The games are soft but there is much less traffic than FT or PS. There is however some accounts operating pokerbots at the micro limit heads up tables and UB are doing nothing to stop them. I played on quite a few sites before landing at UB, this is largely due to first deposit cash bonuses but then I discovered that you can get rakeback. I wish I was told this when I first joined the other poker sites. It is a must to have rakeback if you are trying to build a bankroll. I just typed rakebackreferrals into google and it brought up a number of sites I could operate from. I now happily split my time between FT and UB. Clearly FT is the bigger and better site but for me it was about which sites I could get rakeback on.
