Pay attention if u have 2 accounts on a poker room ! It s apparently forbidden ! (out of rules)

I was surprised when i claimed my money on a big poker room in EUROPE to see this message on my e-mail box in french :

Il est interdit de posséder plusieurs comptes sur salles de poker en ligne pour eviter les fraudes sur ce vous définitivement exclu de notre salle et tous gains sur votre compte poker sont nuls et irrécupérable !

So in resume, the room banished me and all money that i have on my account is the property of the room caus' opened 2 accounts .....

one word : disgusted !

It's pretty common knowledge that almost all poker sites prohibit you from having multiple accounts. So if you choose to violate those rules you should expect them to close your accounts and freeze your funds.

You can also only start one thread at Cardschat for each discussion - so I deleted the other one.

And no jurns - you can not have multiple accounts at either of those sites. You should request that one of them be closed before they discover it and do it for you.

Most poker sites will allow spouses to each have an account. My husband and I both have accounts at multiple sites. They have to be separate accounts for separate people and have separate email addresses. You can not play on cash tables together.

Getting a laptop will not give you a separate ip address - the ip will be the same.

I'm starting to get worried now, I got at least two account on most sites ( a lot but not much cash) should I declare them or try closing them down?

I had two accounts on Full Tilt

I started with (abeand2) but then I went and open another account... (TexasPokerStar)... that name created a lot more table presence... and started to win a lot of cash... so when I was ready to cash out.... they send me an e-mail... and close down my account.

But they didn't keep the cash... they deposit it to my primary account, which was (abeand2)

On bodog my husband and I both have accounts. They did let me know that they were making an exception because their rules state one account per household. We are auto banned from playing on same tables, even heads up for play money, lol

I had 2 accounts on full tilt, but once i realized it was against the rules, I emailed full tilt. they closed the secondary account and offered to transfer all funds to my primary account.

My GF and I each have our own accts., and when we moved to PA together, I emailed stars security and told them about it. They were VERY polite and gracious for the notification. I recommend just being well...as honest as you can and being up front with their security team... They're not seeking to sieze funds to money, they just want to ban cheaters, understandably so. If you have to cheat, you're obv. no good and should get a job.

A friend of mine just got it from FT for having 2 accts...still trying to figure out where the funds are going to be placed..for right now, they're not even there. This is why we should read the rules and regulations prior to doing something that may be against the policies.

Also, nice contribution, RemusA

Have to admit, I don't know that I've ever fully read the complete terms and conditions. They are usually a legal doc 20 pages long. Guess I probably should.....and send my lawyer a copy, lol

It's more than sensible that you can have only one account! Damn cheaters with multiple accounts.. The thing is.. I once played at my friend's house on my account, and since then me and that friend can't play in the same room again because we got "linked up" as being "the same". That kind of sucks, but I get to live with it..

it is technically prohibited to have more than one acct on a poker site.

however, i dont think the sites really care about enforcing that rule very strictly. its obvious-the more accts, the higher traffic/player #/etc they can claim, especially those that are privately owned (such as PS, FTP, UB/AP).

hence, eg, if u noticed on UB, after u log in to ur acct, a button named 'new account' is present on the top of the main lobby screen. ergo, theyre encouraging u to have more than one acct, even if quietly.

Me and My Girl Friend have different accounts from the same house, I actually wrote to stars about it, and to party poker about it, and absoulte poker about it, and they stated as long as we don't sit at the same table, then there's no problem, now the weird thing about this is when we play tourneys, we never make it to be on the same table, no matter what we do/how tight we play always some how either I or her end up with a Bad beat forbidden us to play against eachother, but that's poker

You can be sure that any big site already has your two accounts flagged as being in use from the same IP address. How long that can go on before any action is taken, is anyone's guess. There are a lot of legitimate reasons for this (roommates, spouses, university internet), but I would definitely close out any additional accounts and come clean.

You can have 44 accounts...

and deposit cash money to your heart's content! But when you go to withdraw, you're shit out of luck baby. Don't worry, it's not about the money, they still love your precious heart.

I doubt the site would confiscate money unless (a) you were colluding or (b) you were bonus/rakeback abusing.
