Tropical poker coming back Jan. 2008?

Just a heads up warning, this site has been down for over 3 months now with no warning to players, they kept everyones money and would not let anyone withdraw, I have almost 300 bucks there. I wonder if our money will still be there when they come back online. After 3 months of holding everyones money going to be 5 months by Jan., with no notice and no email returns and no way to get your money, it will be interesting to see what happens when they do come back online.

I'm curious as to what you all would do and what do you think will happen to this site after pulling what they pulled.

I'd say don't hold you're breath. If it's coming back, then it's likely because it was sold and is under new management. On the flip side, if the old mgmt didn't just pull all the money and run, then it is possible. But like I said, probably shouldn't hold your breath.

Guess I got lucky then. Finished with the site awhile ago server was crashing alot. If they are coming back then hopefully they have some cash behind them and new equipment. If you are lucky enough to get your money or continue to play ther please let me know if the site is getting better.

Well if I'm lucky enough that they do have my money in there, then I'm cashing out quick style, one thing that looks promising is that they will have new deposit and withdraw options, so being as their old rule was you had to deposit first, seeing as how much time has went by, I cant see them trying to make people deposit first for their money that has been held hostage for 5 months, they better have our money in there by the way, if not its time to warn as much people as possible to stay away from this site, and they will get alot of bad publicity if they keep peoples money.

I have money in there too but it's all freeroll winnings. I can't spend it either becuase next to no one is on playing the MTT or sit n gos.

Your money won't be there or they will ask you to play 20k hands of 1/2 LHE rake to get it back. If it was sold, it's not to the buyers advantage to let everyone and their mother cash out nija style the second it reopens.

Like the last gentleman said, it will be 5 months since the site went down. I, myself, have over 1k there and completely appalled how this all went down. No warning, no email, no nothing but it will be open in a week and they dragged that on for 2 months till I called there bluff and they said they wasnt sure. My quess is that they took all the money and put it in the bank to occurr interest. They completely alienated all the regular players on that site. Then they say opening in January and its already the 3rd and still not open. I find it funny that they would not give an exact date after they had 5 months to get there act together. They would have to give some big incentive for people who was loyal to them to come back. I emailed them couple days ago and still have not gotten a response. Its sad that a poker site can do this and get away with stealing peoples money. Its not there money, its ours. Therefore, if the site comes back, I will take my money and run unless they make up for holding peoples money for 5 months which I doubt that will happen.
Another guy said you will have to make up player points to get your money, screw that, its our money we earned it, not them!!!

I tried warning people time and again on that site that Tropical was a phony going-nowhere site. I played that site when they were lucky to get 100 people in a 500 dollar freeroll and still in beta. That was a LONG time ago.

That some people would leave 100's of dollars in the hands of complete strangers, inaccessible and out of country, is beyond me.

There is way too much trust of online poker and not enough warnings heeded. Gamblers are gamblers, they will just pour money in, not expecting to ever win. Real poker players with mad skillz expect to win in the long run.

However, you cannot win if the house is stacked against you.

I doubt they will ever come back. Just count it as money lost, lessons learned and try a reputable site, if there are any left.

When tropical poker started about 2 years ago, I played in there beta, after beta period was over i had 80 freeroll dollars. I turned them in to 8 k and att first i thought i would get scammed but surprisingly they started sending out withdrawals. and with my fpp I got invited to wsop sat. with only 30 players. I hope everyone will get there money and that they improved there software.

Well now they actually have a date when they will be re-opening. It says on there site that they will be re-opening on February 20th under new management. I hope this time they are actually telling the truth.

Never seems to amaze me of these crooks. They were suppose to open jan then feb 20th and now it says they are offline due to upgrades and will be back soon. So your telling me 10 months wasnt enough time for them to get there shit together. This is truely a pathetic site that steals people money and plays us all thinking they are opening when they are not. Someone one needs to report these dudes for theft being that they are still there

Wtf happened to feb 20. Guess I was stupid to even get my hopes up a little. Oh well I should have know. It went from saying back on feb 20 to now saying there offline for upgrades and will be back soon. Yeah how long have they been saying they will be back soon. Tropical poker sux.

this is an inside tip on tropical poker. They are under new management and the upgrades are because it will be a flash poker site no download.
The reason I can say this is because I have a skin with them called cheapflops.com that will be up and running once they finish all the testing on the new software. As far as old accounts on Tropical players who had money in their accounts when the old management closed. Your money is still there also there is suppose to be lots of promotions to reward players for the long wait and to show that this will be a good place to play better then before. This time around they have funds to run a poker site like it should be run. Just thought I would post this info for you guys look me up on the tables once it opens again anyday now I am Santa Fish on the site

It doesn't take almost 9 months to complete testing and crap like that. They are playing us as suckers when it was suppose to be up jan, then feb 20th and now they offline. If they wanted to do the honorable thing, they should send the players an email about whats going on and a chance if they want their money back now. It has become a completely digusting experience that they have no regard for the players who played there alot and have money on that site. Without players you don't have a site and they completely alienated everyone. If you have the inside scoop then tell me the day or the month they will be reopening so I can get my money out of that joke site. The reason why they have money now is not new management, its from all the interest from everyones money.

Tropical Poker is LAME. For the first 2 months I sent them e-mails asking whats up. Every e-mail I sent, they sent a message back always positive and convincing. Now its been 5 months and im pissed off, they can take my money and smoke and drink it away whatever they want to do. But for the last person who stole my money and ran and is hiding like a rodent, got smacked like a rodent. Show your face you cowards, grow a set and give me my money before I come take it.

cant say that i had much money on tropical so im not out much. and this is more of a question than anything else. on a site other than a major site, why would someone even leave a lot of money on there? i mean say you deposit 50 and win 300, why wouldnt you at least put it into your epassporte or whatever online transfer service you prefer. im not meaning this to agitate, irritate, or whatever....just curious. i mean if it was pokerstars or ft, i wouldnt think nothin about it. but imo if your not gonna be playin on the site right that minute why leave the money on there. why not keep it in your, like i said epassporte account or whatever and then deposit in the poker site(s) as needed. i dunno, just somethin i was thinkin about.

Has anyone heard anything on Tropical Poker coming back? There still off-line and I can't find any information. Reading the strings, seem like everyone is having the same problem and can't obtain any information. I was just checking to see if anyone has heard anything.

haha well i must say that they'll lose tons of popularity from this stunt... even if the money is still in it for the players who play at tropical.. expect massive withdrawals in the first week back... doesnt matter if its new management or old management... the name is screwed... personally with regards to poker sites id have to say that you have to stick with the more credible ones... full tilt or pokerstars or atleast something like UB.. no point putting money in some small site where you have no guarantee on the money...

I told people before it ever went away to get their money out quick. Tropical always was a joke of a site. Hope they stay away permanently. Kiss your freeroll winnings goodbye. Big deal. If you are stupid enough to part ways with your money to an unknown unregulated offshore site like that you DESERVE to lose your money. If you want your freeroll winnings you played on there, puhleeze, don't even waste your time. The site is gone for good and isn't coming back.

Gawd, I told people in there plenty of times the site was a ripoff and plenty of times got laughed at, who's laughing now...
