Copy of email I sent ACR support;

I just finished 2nd in a hand based tourney.

You have a tricky problem. With the meter showing 3 hands to go, I was in the lead, and got transferred to the final table. I sat in what would have been the BB position, and with normal tourneys, tradition has it you don't play when transferred to the BB, or SB, or button positions.

Well, I did not have the opportunity to play those final 3 hands. In essence I was playing a 57 hand based tourney to the others 60 game hand based tourneys.

Fix that somehow ok?

I should probably have added that I got no cards to play till the very last hand. I hope they can figure out what the problem is.

The reply;

[FONT=Candara, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]Dear Dennis,

Thank you for contacting Americas Card Room Poker.

Please note that our tournament department replied to us letting us know that this was a "unique" and isolated issue, but still, it might happen due to the structure of the tournament and the table's balancing based on the amount of hands which is the risk taken on this type of tournaments. They will try to minimize the impact on our next software update.

If you should need further assistance please do not hesitate to contact our customer service department. We will be happy to assist you with any questions or comments that you may have.

Generic response for the most part there. Kind of crappy considering the format of that tournament, surely they could have forseen something like this beforehand and put things in place to stop it from happening?

I replied with my suggested solution;

It seems to me the easiest, and probably best solution would be to close both of the remaining tables, and treat the remaining players as a fresh player pool, in a new STT for the remaining games per the meter. With new random seating, all players would have the flattest field to finish the game. Otherwise, you are moving one table onto the other table keeping the positional advantages that may exist on the table which the new players to that table have no clue about. Sorry if that is confusing, the whole concept is tricky.

I hope that wasn't to obscure. The game concept is interesting and the game goes rather quickly. The 'meter' is the remaining hand count, posted center top of the table window in pretty large numbers.
