Hello everyone,

I came accross this site, and have been going through some posts. Seems liek a great community here :)

So I saw the 100% deposit bonus from fulltilt here, and I am thinking of starting an account to play some limit cash games.

I have some questions, and was hoping you guys could help.

1. Has anyone done the 100% bonus from here at fulltilt? Dod you have to do anything other then enter the code to get the bonus?

2. At fulltilt how easy is it to withdraw money? What are the requirements?

3. I am from canada, i have been reading about some UIGEA law, and also some issues with Canadian banks? What are my best options to deposit money and also withdraw?

4. I have never used any poker trackers, but would like your feedbacl on to what would be best for me to use.

Also, please feel free to add anything else you think might help.

a little background on me.

I have played online before, but it has been years, I remeber my first was at Absolute poker, I started with a $30 deposit, and built it to $600, then I got greedy...lost it all. since, I have deposited $50 here and there a some sites, but I always played sng's. I also play live at some casino's here in canada as well as home games here and there, but I am def still a noob to online poker. This time around I want to commit to this and take a bit more seriously.

Make sure you research how to get rakeback in full tilt cause I don't have it and it sucks.

Definitely research the rakeback if you plan on playing a lot of cash games. I think Full Tilt is 27%.

It's a little more difficult to earn the bonus than entering the code. Your bonuses are released in $10 increments and I think it takes like 166 Full Tilt Points to release each $10.

Yes, absolutely make sure you sign up at a rakeback site BEFORE you make your account on Full Tilt. Rakeback is crucial, I use rakebrain.com but alot of people use bonuswhores.com as well. Full tilt is legit you will like it, nice software, tons of players on at all hours. Have fun!

Wish i signed up 4 rakeback b4 i signed up at FTP. Now i have e-mailed fulltilt poker about signing up for rakeback but im still waiting. BOOOO!!!

Find sum articles about bankroll management on this site dude. FTP is a great site with alot of fish, but there is alot of good players and a alot of suckouts too n u cant win em all so its wise to stick to limits so u dont go broke again.
Good luck on the felt and we hope to see more posts from u dude!

I've never heard of problems using a Canadian Bank for a deposit to a poker site. Could you tell me more? Even though I'm in the US, our family has an account at a Canadian bank to pay bills for our cottage. I was thinking of using that account as a way to fund my deposit, if I lose what I now have deposited. Tell me more about the problems with using a Canadian bank.

FullTilt's a decent site, and has pretty good traffic at the micro limits, which I am assuming is where you'll be playing.

As others have stated, make sure you sign up using a rakeback promotion code, because it sucks if you dont have it. I think limit poker at the micros is going to suck, but that's just my opinion.

I'm pretty sure you pay less rake at pokerstars if you are playing the lower limits, even when compared to playing at the micros on FullTilt WITH rakeback. Not sure it changes until you get past 10NL.

Edit: just looked at the rake schedules for both sites and FullTilt w/ rakeback is pretty close to normal rakeback at PokerStars at 10NL and below. It's really going to depend on your own personal preferences when it comes down to it.

When/if you reach limits 25NL and above rakeback through FullTilt is probably going to save you more money (of course you'd have to factor in hitting Iron Man or VIP levels on the respective sites, not quite sure how those bonuses would affect you).

Also, I have never had a problem cashing out from PokerStars. They always sent me my check, and I have never had a problem depositing them at my bank. I have never cashed out from FullTilt and have just been authorized to withdrawal via checks. I will let you know how that experience goes when I cash out sometime in October.

And just to point out, PokerStars has a lot more traffic on their site if that makes a difference to you.

Hey guys,

thanks for the replies :)

So Full Tilt, or poker stars, which would you guys recommend?

I am thinking of starting at .50-1 limit, maybe 1-2. I play 5-10 at live casinos, and 1-2 NL home games mainly.. I feel safer with Limit games though.

In regards to Canadian banks, I read a post on here about TD not allowing gaming transactions or something. Check out the posts in this forum.

Im gonna go check out what these rakeback sites are all about, sounds like its a really good thing!

Also,

What other sites with a good signup bonus would you recommend? Something where the bonus is easily cleared...

There is a world of difference between 2/5 live and 1/2 online. If you can beat the first it doesn't mean you can beat the second. .25/.50 or .50/1 is probably a better place to start and get used to the games. Once you feel comfortable and played a few thousand hands you can start moving up.

Full Tilt is a great place to play and you'll probs like it. Poker tracking software is a must for online poker. Try the free trials for BOTH Poker Tracker 3 and Hold'em Manager and see which one you prefer.

Good luck!

EDIT: Pokerstars has the same sign-up bonus as Full Tilt so you can try there. Traffic is higher but the games are generally slightly tougher.

With Full Tilt rakeback it should be noted that the bonus will be deducted from your rakeback earnings while you clear it. Regardless of which site you sign up at, it's a standard deduction for all rakeback players.

So if you clear $100 bonus. you lose out on $100MGR or $27 rakeback. So it's a higher value for players to take the deposit bonus and not receive rakeback for the first few weeks.

I too am from Canada and play alot on Fulltilt.

Simplest way to deposit is by using a MastercardGiftCard (you can buy them at 7/11, ShopperDrugMart, etc. and are available in 25, 50 & $100 increments (the $25 won't be enough though... I believe the min. deposit at Fulltilt is more than $25Cdn.) Anyways... very, very, very easy to use!

Bonus clearning: When I first deposited at Fulltilt there was a 120% bonus (having to clearn a number of player pts. to receive it in 10% increments)

look into the deal cardrunners.com has. after paying $100 in rake(which is easy to do even in micros) you get 3 months of thier training site free along with holdem manager. and to top it all off you get $27 of the $100 in rake back. IMO the best deal out there.
