Any thoughts?

Play at Bet365 at the mo, they were doing a $100 max bonus each month but the last two months the requirements have stepped up and its not so inviting now its a $50 max for the same raked hands.

Stars doesn't do a lot of bonuses, but has the best software, in my opinion. Nice, clean interface, easy to navigate, fast.. .They DO have some reload bonuses once in a while (every two months?) that are fairly easy to clear.

Stars is still my favorite site, when it comes to software. Not necessarily the site with the most fish, though.

I would agree that their software is great,..they are the 800 pound gorilla and don't really need to offer bonuses.

I for one stick with sites that pay rakeback and good short handed games.

F Paulsson, what site would you say does have the most fish?

Not that this is necessarily the best reason to play somewhere, I'm just curious

I keep getting told that KingSolomon's is the most fish-heavy site on the net, but I have yet to try it myself. It comes very highly recommended by some of our regulars, though.

Absolute had a lot of god-awful players when I played there. FullTilt has a few, but typically just one or two really poor ones per table at $1/$2 limit.

Depends what limits and games you play, too, though.

The standard fish - the calling station - is the most commonly known species, but there are other variations that are just as easy (if not easier) to beat, if you can just spot them:

The weak/tight. If he raises preflop, it's with QQ or better. When he raises preflop, just fold, unless you're holding AA. There's no point in tangling with him, because if you have KK he has either QQ or AA. And being so passive, he won't pay you off enough the times he has QQ to offset the money you lose when he has AA. So I fold, unless there's more people in the pot (who provide "dead money" that weak/tight and I can share).

The loose preflop/tight post-flop. Not to be confused with your standard fish, these players won't go all the way to the river with nothing but third pair. They "fit or fold" the flop. With these players, you need to be aggressive pre-flop, because they won't stick around to pay you off if they don't flop something they like. And 70% of the time, they won't, thus raise strong hands preflop. If you can isolate them, raise anything preflop and bet the flop. They'll fold more often than you'd think.

The "I'm a big bad bluffer" variety. This is a somewhat loose player who now and again takes chances and goes berserk with nothing but 8-high. It often works. Pick your spot when you have a good hand, and let him get stung.

But my favorite is still the calling station. I bet, he calls. Sometimes he calls down with third pair and hits a second pair on the river, and I lose. It sucks, but the other 10 times he's done the same thing, he just paid me off. Love 'em!

I currently play in pokerstars and i think its the best site,i have tried like 20 sites online and none compares to PS. The only little problem might be that the competition might be a little tougher, but you can still make money here. If you are only for fish try party poker ( usually the sites with big player data bases and bonuses have a lot fish ):hello:

I have been enjoying the play at partypoker, which by the way i might add is the only site of the dozen + i have played at that has more players playing at any given time than pokerstars. I am not sure about the fish but the higher limits have some decent players, downright good mindnumbing poker. Even the lower NL tables are not full of god awful suckout artists, I got my cardschat link bonus in just a couple of sessions of play and the rake requirement was not much of a speed bump to pass over. After my bonus and a few well invested sit downs, i ended up over $300 on a $50 deposit in less than 10 days.

Doesnt Pokerstars do a 180 man $20 sag, or is that Party?

I don't remember where but anywhere that has this is worth going to.

It's Stars.

They're adding different buyins for them soon as well apparently, probably from $5 to $50, which is pretty neat.

These tourneys actually give out TLB points. Top 15% get some sort of TLB points. They are hard to fill though. I see them sitting with 50 or so all the time. The weekend is the time to hop on these.

Pokerstars has by far the best tourney selection. When they do offer a reload bonus it's a great deal as it never expires and basically gives you all of the rake back for tourny play.

Actually, these run very consistently throughout the day...

I play at poker stars quite frequently. I really enjoy playing there. Some great poker players there though, so if your out for a quick buck and want to win, you should probably stay where you are, or be able to hold your own at the tables. I personally like the tourney selection at party poker better. But to each his own.... GL and if you see me at the tables be sure and holla! Screen name is Smokedoubt777.

i also recommend the switch to pokerstars. they have the best selection of tourneys ,high stakes and low stakes. frequent player points system is the best out there. the players are for the most part i think the strongest out there not like the bingo players and junk cardplaying players out there.

Someone asked in an earlier post to notify the members when Pokerstars has a reload bonus going. Until the 13th of March at midnight they have a 20% bonus. tried to copy and paste the details but something didn't work. Info is at Pokerstars though.

MODS: A better place for this post maybe?

Here's another "YES" for switching to Poker Stars. THe software is second to none and tons of tourneys at every level from free roll to high limit. There are a few fish on Poker Stars as well. They are hard to come by but nice to find. They usually don't last long as they are picked clean before the blinds hit them twice!!

i think the main things about PS are:
-great tournament selection 24/7 (#1 in tournies i believe)
-great ring game selection 24/7 (also up there with ring traffic, #1 or #2 i think)
-apparently some of fish at lower limits
-competition in tournies can be tough at higher buy-ins
-best(?) software
-best support
-reload bonuses are few and far between but apparently really easy to clear
i'm going to make my first deposit there
from what i've heard, it's the best!
gl with it, gjs!
