I have money in Carbon poker and I found out you had to make a first deposit to withdraw it. So I made my first deposit on Carbon Poker the other day and added a bonus code. With in minutes my bonus was inactive because I withdrew most of the money I had in my carbon account. I was wondering if other site go by this rule. I didn't even get to used my bonus before it was inactive for withdrawing. Now does that sound fair to you guys? I mean Carbon poker is a great site, but I think they should change that rule. Anyone know if other sites go by this form of rule?

That is standard policy at all poker sites.

Actually, I know there used to be one exception: Cake Poker

When I was clearing bonuses on Cake and using Ewalletexpress to move money back and forth there, I would regularly withdraw money and my bonuses were still intact. I imagine it's still the same, but I can't test that theory now since I only have $17 there and the only way I can w/d $ is by a check (which the minimum for is $500. ACK!)

Yeah, I had the same experience on RPM Poker. Needed to withdraw, and forfeited like $60 in uncleared bonuses. It's obvious that poker rooms like this rule. I think FTP is the same way.

The purpose of the bonus money is to get you to play. If you don't put in any volume (with your deposited money) and generate some rake they get no benefit from giving you the bonus. They are not giving you money for nothing.

Speaking of Carbon, I signed up using a bonus code that turned out to be crap. It gave me 200% initial deposit bonus, but then bumped the bonus clearing level up.

Normally, $5 increments are released for every 375 pts, but with my affiliate bonus code, it will require 1,200 to clear each $10 increment. It’s gonna take me a year and a half at my current pace to clear a lousy $10.

this ^

I've read that it's suggested that you 'don't take the bonus' (if you're just depositing so that you'll be able to withdrawl off of the site... otherwise you're stuck there trying to clear the bonus).
