Are these things legal?

I like to chat at the table and will often make a "tournament friend" or 2 over the course of a few hours. I have on occasion used my time bank when near the bubble to help a stranger (whom I like) try and cash or to hit the next teir of payouts.

Is this considered colluding? (even if i dont know them)

Also what about sharing folded cards with the table during the hand? ("I folded 3's")
I do not do it to influence the hand specifically, but it may alter play none the less.

Can I get in trouble for either of these behaviors?
Is time banking for someone considered "softplay"?

All I can tell you is listen to your instincts.

... yes .. they are violations and yes you can get in trouble , it's never ok to reveal your cards during the play of a hand as it can absolutely influence the play of the hand .... this is against the rules everywhere poker is played ... , really not sure why you would risk stalling for someone you don't even know either ... , poker is a social game but it is not a social event ... you are there to take their chips .. revealing your hand or "helping" someone make the money may seem like the nice thing to do but you are actually colluding against the other players at the table by doing this ... this will not win you many friends .. it's also going to get you in trouble with the site if they report it ... gl

It's bad etiquette to help someone get to the next tier when they may not have made it otherwise... it may not seem to bad, but the dude who get's knocked out might feel a little salty if it's obvious.

not really the spirit of the game giving other players a boost I should imagine it would be frowned upon in all games, showing or even talking about stacked card is a no no it may influence the outcome of the play and give some player an advantage

This is a gentleman, but it is still a violation of the rules of the game. It's like a conspiracy, even if it is involved in one side. For this reason alone I do not accept requests for admission to the friends in the the game of poker. Friends must be outside of the table rather than at the table. When sitting at my desk, my friend, I'll definitely take a the wrong decisions.

... because it's in violation of the rules of the game is why not , also it's not exactly being nice to the other players to collude against them .. play your own game

It is legal.
your right to decide how to use time bank
but do not say for the purpose of helping others on the table, just say I need to think it is bubble.

no one blames you for that.

Hi I think not because I have already done it, if you want to tell your game to the other people at the table is your choice and your opponents will see if they decide to believe you or not.

You would be removed from a live casino for these behaviors.

You would be removed from a live casino for these behaviors.

As a regular within a Brick & Mortar Casino. This happens all day long. Soft play in cash games and tournaments both. You don't want to announce it obviously. However, not 1 "floor" person in St. Louis, MO will remove a player from a table without warning them about such things 1st. Obviously, if players cry about it. Something will have to be done. I have witnessed it for over 20 years and NEVER seen 1 person removed, never!
