For those of you who dont know what these are, they are poker rooms with no dealers. Each table has one big screen in the middle where you can see the community cards, who is still in the hand, players chip stacks, and who bet what, looks exactly like online, and on the table in front of each player's seat is a smaller screen, a touch screen, where you make your bet, can choose options like auto-muck, and you can check your cards by cupping your hands on the screen where your face down cards are.

I was wondering who has played at tables using this in casinos or wherever, and if you thought it was good.

The Montreal Casino uses this in its poker room, and I found it very interesting.

i guess this would dramatically increase your hands/hour playing live, not sure if i would want to play that though, i stare at a screen enough already during work/online poker.

Ya, i figure the advantages are more hands per hour, however there is no time limit on decisions, yet people still seem to take very little time, like 15 seconds max per decision (very fast). The downside for me though, is I really like the whole idea of having chips in front of you to play with and stuff and putting in chips gives off tells, and this completely negates that aspect.

They are advertising them in one of Trump's casinos in Atlantic City.
I feel that anyone that plays one of those tables over a dealer table should be shot.
First of all its taking away somebody's job.... the dealer's.
Second if I want to play on an electronic table I'll save my gas and stay home and play online.
I enjoy playing live and will NEVER play on an electronic table in a casino.
and with so many people complaining about the dreaded "RNG" in online poker, think what will happen with people around and your aces get cracked !!!
So I say ....NO .....NO ....NO

I agree that with a choice, I would rather play at a table with a dealer. However, at the Montreal Casino, there is no alternative option. Its still not as bad as online because you can still see your opponent and therefore get a read off of them, however i have always loved having chips to bet with. Also, game is faster and there is no tipping the dealer although they do take a slightly higher rake to compensate for this.

i like the no tipping part, plus live dealers make too many mistakes especially in Omaha.
