hey there, just wondered how many of you do this.. go into a cash table win a hand MAYBE two and than take your money and get out and go into a different table rather than having to post and risk losing what you just won... i will admit i do, do this occasionally :)

I used to see this on occasion in live games. Never did understand it.

When you drop in at a new table (except stud) you either have to wait for the big blind or post one of your own. Therefore it seems to me that anyone table hopping, winning or not, is posting a lot more blinds than they would by sitting and taking hands when they don't have the blind. Therefore they're paying more for poker.

Ah, yes...the old "Hit and Run." This is a mirror of a discussion and subsequent poll I posted on another one of the forums that I frequent. The reason for me posting it was the constant bitching by certain pro's who post there about other high-limit players in the Stars 100/200 and UB 300/600 games either sitting out after making a big score or hitting a few big pots for 50 grand or so and then leaving the table. My argument was that it shouldn't matter to a player one way or the other if a person hits and runs after a few wins. Every other seat at the table should be an empty seat to a decent player. Once your money is put in the middle it no longer belongs to you unless you win the pot and therefore shouldn't matter where it goes after losing a pot. To another player that stays or if it leaves the table, it shouldnt matter. I think the main reason for the complaints is sour grapes.

Are you doing this online? I've never heard of a B&M allowing anyone to move without
the floor manager's permission.

I don't do it online or live, but I don't care if people do it on a table I am sitting at.

BTW, Dawgnutz, are you the same dawgnutz listed on FTP tournament leaderboard website?
