Hi guys,

It's almost a new year and I was wondering; is it possible / realistic to go for Supernova on pokerstars if you only play nl10 and nl25?

Probably not, but just asking.

Grtz

Its realistic on NL25 with high grinding.
To get supernova, realistic estimate is:
- 20 days a month
- 8 hours a day
- 10 tables

So if you are full time grinder and play 10 tables, then yes, you can get supernova.

Nope, only play six to eight. More I can't handle. When I posted it, I already thought it was a long shot. Thanks anyway :)

i think it's around 300vpps per day on average to become supernova so if you think you can make that much per day along with making a profit or at least breaking even then go for it

good luck

8 hours a day..playing 10 tables..for me that is aposlutly no realistic:D

Well, I came with the idea that while playing zoom sometimes now at 10nl on stars I see people with 5 stars and I thought 'well...' But with the calculator I saw that it's quite unrealistic.

supernova = average rake of 1500$ per month for a year, so it's not that simple...
For me playing fixed limit will be easier =
3 Table
0.5/ 1$
limit Holdem
8 hours per day.

Yeah, but I've put my goal for Supernova in 2015 away already. First move up to indeed nl50 or nl100 and to be honest. I think there are better (smaller) sites to play with softer fields than Pokerstars. It's just so damn cool, those 5 red stars :)

I do play on Stars, but only when traffic on the little softer sites (Ipoker, unibet) is low.

Playing normal ring games - possible, but really really hard.

Playing zoom - possible and achievable. Good luck on your supernova!

Tnx for the support, but I'm not doing it :) I found out it's indeed very very hard + my winrate is higher on smaller sites, such as Ipoker & Unibet. When traffic is low there, I turn to Pokerstars, so Gold status is possible from time to time. Tnx for the responses though!

Well I plan to go for it in 2015. but I will play 50NL Zoom... I make around 100-120 VPPs/hour on 4 tables so it is doable.

VIP calculator is presumably only correct for a player with average play style. It definitely overestimates VPP/hand compared to my own.

How's this working out for you? Did you decide to give it a shot? If so are you on the right track? Hope so :)

Good luck
