Hi everyone!

I saw this freeroll on pokerstars. There are 9 prize places, 1 - Sunday Million ticket, other 8 - steps.

Is there any reason to play it?

Reason to play is that somebody has to win the big ticket but it will probably be a 5000 to 1 chance.
Personally it is nothing I bother to play.

probably a better chance then 5000 to 1 because most of the players early on are just going all in and getting busted. Came in the top 500 once and played for a good 2 hours before getting busted. Playing tight at the start is the best way to go as you will be seeing all-ins. After the first 40% of the players are busted, you will have a chance to make a run of it.

Well, the idea of playing tight for 2-3 hours and then busting and winning nothing and wasting 3 hours playing it is something that really doesnt attract me :/

GL to you if you decide to play it anyway :)

As the other guys said, tight is right. In the early stages, you basically just want to play ABC poker and get maximum value from your strong hands and just fold marginal hands where you feel you're behind. In these tournaments I would stay away from fancy and intricate plays because the majority of the players won't understand and will just call you down with anything. This tournament usually has around 15000 players and lasts about 8 hours, only giving a 'Step 1' ticket to 9th-2nd and a 'Sunday Million' ticket to 1st. My advice would be to stay away from this tournament as I believe it's a waste of time. However, if you do play, I wish you the best of luck.

Of course there is a reason - you can win a $215 ticket to the sunday million. Or you can reach the final table and at least have that steps ticket. But chances of that happening are really really slim when there are so many people in the tournament, so I'd advise only play that tourney if you have nothing better to do and have lots of free time.

I definately agree with rytciaq. I only play this if I am waiting for something better. This is more like a 15000/1 shot and the you will really need to run good ~ really good!!!! - gl with it :D:D:D

Is doesn't worth it. Even If you win by great luck that $215 ticket, you will be crushed in Sunday Million by high stakes much more experienced players. You can't refuse the ticket and take the cash instead as I know.

That's exactly what I was thinking. If you are going to play this kind of freeroll, you should be very aggressive in the begining and collect as big stack as possible or then be busted. Waste of time to play and fold a couple hours and then go all in with player who has 10x more chips.

If you can only play freerolls to try and get into the Sunday MIllion game then its probably fun to try and win a seat but, if you have some $$ there are some cheap sngs to for tournaments entries to get that golden ticket... If you play that huge freeroll like everyone else suggests try to only play the premium hands and be a nit the first hour or so... gl

This is not a game I would play. 20,000 plus players for 1 ticket. Maybe they should make it all in every hand to make it more interesting. Good luck if you play.

Exactly! Maybe this is the way to win it: enjoying the game and playing for fun.

This freeroll only for recreational players who play all without an exception freerolls, time better spent on learning than to play these freerolls with large field.
