I'm looking for a poker site where I can play that you're convinced the card distribution is FAIR and not rigged so the site can gain maximum rake. If you've played at a site enough, you probably have a good idea whether or not it's realistic or if there's too much action.

The optimal suggestions would come from people who have played at pokerstars for a long time and are convinced it's rigged for action and have then played at another site for a long time that was much more realistic. Whether it's rigged or not, I can't help but feel it is, and if there are those that agree and found another site more realistic, it would be reassuring for me. Also the deposit bonus for the site is important too, but first concern is a site that you think is fair.

I found this site interesting, whether it's true or not. It seems fairly legitimate, but who knows; poker-sucks.com/poker-sucks/pokerstars-is-robbing-you.html

Thanks.

I wouldnt use a site (poker-sucks) that can't even spell properly on its web pages as any basis in reality. I have seen your other posts about losing a lot at pokerstars but really it seems you overvalued your hands in Omaha where the nuts changes with each card dealt. I play only at pokerstars and have done just fine. Hands go by fast so you see a lot of weird things for a while and then everything is normal for a while. Titan is the only other site I have played at and I don't like it. Some sites may have inferior randomizers but pokerstars is pretty good.

If you are convinced sites are all rigged, don't play. Play some home cgames and see how the cards come up - you will see some giant hands there as well - ESPECIALLY playing Omaha. If you continue thinking sites are rigged you will never win. You need confidence to win at a table. I read your other posts and what I can say for sure is that and right now you have no confidence. Take Fish's advice, read a few books and stick to the micro tables until your bankroll is over $1,000 before you move to any table that has a number before the decimal point.

Every poker site on the net is rigged no matter where you play. You will get some retard going all in pre- flop with junk and end up winning the hand. I am seriously about to stop playing online the next time I push all in with pocket aces and some retard with 27 ends up winning the hand I will throw my computer out the window and start playing live poker. The best thing for you to do is stop playing online with all the retards and start playing live with some people who actually know what they are doing.

Almost everyone who argues for or against a site being rigged is talking about Texas Hold 'Em and are angry because they got beat by crappy hands a couple times when the odds were probably 70/30 or so. Of course if it's Pokerstars you're talking about, I'd agree with you. But the argument isn't very compelling.

If you think that makes it rigged, you need to play Omaha... it will really make it shine. Obviously Omaha is going to produce better hands. I understand it all. I've been playing Omaha hi/lo frequently in REAL life for real money the past several weeks before I decided to play online. The contrast is seriously unbelievable. No, it's not because the internet plays so much faster. It's not because I've played badly. I've played very tight. I play hands where I have a good opportunity at scooping both the Hi and Lo pot. "Oh but you played too tight!" Actually I can honestly say there is very rarely, almost never a time when I fold pre-flop that I see all the cards and it turns out I would have profitted if I stayed in. I've been shockingly efficient in this regard. Yet certain other players will play nothing but garbage and get constantly rewarded for it. Any Omaha Hi/Lo expert (not that I'm one) will tell you, contrary to any myth you might hear, that starting hands in Omaha Hi/Lo are extremely important.

It doesn't really matter because you guys aren't going to take anything I say seriously and that's fine and understandable. If you're making money on pokerstars, congratulations. I'm going to try full tilt poker and see if I notice an immediate difference. If I don't, I'll come on here and admit that the site's not rigged (but secretly think to myself that both are).

On Limit Omaha H/L you'll get good and bad runs, just as any other variant of poker, but if you play a solid, tight game (playing A2XX and other hands with a similar potential for the low, and minimising raising without hands that also have a high potential), then you should show a profit. I've so far made fairly good profits playing it online. Pokerstars doesn't seem any different to Paradise Poker or Party or other sites running a decent number of Omaha H/L games, so it doesn't seem rigged to me.

However, the hands do tend to run a little closer together in value, so you won't get a hand like AA in holdem where you have a very high expectation of scooping. The funny thing about Omaha H/L is that loose, aggressive play can pay off for a run, because often those random hands are better for high hands than the ones being played for their low potential. If you often end up heads-up against that kind of indiscriminate player, then you'll not fare so well with many low-oriented hands, because you'll generally find you have a draw either way, while they often have a better made high, so you do get scooped more often than you'd like. Their unmoderated aggression helps thin the field which does manage to make their hand fare better than it would otherwise. The solution is that if it's likely to get heads up with a player like that, then you don't want a particularly low-oriented hand. You want high hand potential in particularly, preferably with a couple of cards which can give you a low, so you're more likely to scoop when a low misses, but have a chance of winning the low if one is possible. Pocket Aces are therefore very handy when going against a random hand heads-up. The dynamics against a random hand heads up are rather different to the multi-way action that you commonly get in Omaha H/L. Those random hand players will get creamed when they get high and low hands played against them, but often they get only low hands played against them, which is to their advantage.

I have played on Titan Poker and have not seen anything that would indicate to me that it's rigged in any way. Now, I haven't played real money anywhere else, but I'm consisitently making money on Titan, as are a number of other people around here. Yes, there are suckouts... especially on the micro tables, but that's to be expected.. as there's tons of bad players there. Oh well, you see the same thing in home games and even the 1/2 NLHE and 3/6 LHE games in vegas.

Absolute poker is the most rigged site out there on every flop there is pair or three cards to a straight or three cards to a flush. you will raise with aces then some idiot will push with 27 and the flop will come 227 and now you are broke what do you call that. The best hand never wins dont even think about raising with a strong hand you will just lose even more money. Just limp in everyhand and if people start betting like they are crazy fold take your money and get the hell out of there or just take my advice and dont play online before you have to sell the house.

I've been playing O8 on Stars profitably for about 9 months. By your logic, this means I am either a terrible player, or the site is rigged in my favour. Ehhh, I don't really mind which it is as long as I keep winning though.

If you think a site is rigged, either (a) stop playing there, or (b) start playing like a donk, after all your bound to profit by playing like the biggest donk alive if the site is rigged in favour of donks, right? Or are you not convinced enough in your beliefs to try this?

And the whole 'maximising rake' theory is crap. It would be wholly -EV for a huge site like Stars to rig games to make a little more money when you're then adding in the risk that they will be found out and lose all income.

Could you post some valid information to back up these claims? IE. Hand History of your past 200 or so hands (more would be better)?

As I have not found the suckouts in online play any more frequent than in live games, I really cannot say I buy your theory. The difference I have seen is that the situation does come up more frequently in online play. But the best hand, in my experience, wins more often than not. I believe that new poker players who start off online tend to come in and play the micros and like to bluff at pots alot, when they definitely shouldn't.

I'll admit, it's unlikely Pokerstars is rigged. I got sort of on a tilt and the thing darn near convinced me.

I know Omaha Hi/Lo is more often than not going to make it so that someone has the best possible hand, and it's probably going to come down to the river. The thing is I played good hands and I almost always had a great amount of outs, which of course is extremely important in Omaha. On more occasions than I'd like to remember, I have the nut high going into the river, and I had outs on the river to make my hand better, and I still got outdrawn and screwed over.

What upset me the most because it was so unusual was almost every time I held an A 2 3, A 2 4 or just an A 2, no low hand would flop. This isn't a case of me only remembering the times when I didn't get it... I literally almost never ever won low. I was shocked the few times that I did. This is because for at the very least 8 out of 9 in a row of my A24 and A23 hands, the board made no low at all! It's just crazy because a low hand is going to happen up around 60% of the time. Also in every case except I think once, the hand immediately following DID contain a low. It honestly felt like the software was screwing with me. I suppose I just hit a very cold (arctic, even) streak, as this all happened over the course of a couple days.

That being said, I think I'm still going to change to a different site, if not just for a better deposit bonus. TitanPoker looks nice and the deposit bonus is good (much better odds on the freerolls too). Thank you for the suggestion, spore.

The sites I think are decent, and the ones i hated

I don't play O8 so I can't get into a discussion on the strategy involved. I find the odds are slimmed out too much and it makes the statistical possibilities of good hands too sporatic. This said i judge sites on the nl or pl texas holdem play. And of course i give preference to those sites which i win money on. My two favorites are hollywood poker, and party poker, both of these sites seem to have very weak competition on both low limit cash and tournaments. And hollywood has some really sweet bonuses and promotions. Full Tilt and UB were also nice but i found the competition to be a bit tougher on FT and UB throws up some huge set up hands on you.
The sites i could not stand one bit were absolute, nine.com, and pokerroom (which is weird because pr is the same software as hp). I am still on the fence on some sites which i have not had alot of play on like interpoker or poker.com.
As for online poker being rigged, I think it really depends on the site and the players. I play alot of live games home and casino. There is a casino 20 minutes from me. And i've taken as many horrible 2 6 and 5 outers there as online. Matter of fact last night i went belly up flopping a set and losing to a runner runner better boat. And then went belly up again with 23 outs on the turn. The fact is poker is a frustrating game if you are going to play online play lots of sites take advantage of the bonuses, and find the sites you are most comfortable with. Once you've played live poker enough you will see alot of the insane beats that you see online. Luck is part of the game, and unfortunately you don't have to be good to win one or two lucky hands. To be a long time profitable player you have to find ways to with stand bab beats online and in live poker.
