Sucking at BRM, Help!

Hey guys, I'm a poor guy who loves to play poker and is trying to become a serious player but I find it hard with my limit means to cash. Also I get bored at any online room that doesnt have any visual stimulants. So I play only at truepoker which has awesome graphics. Anyway, I have $4 bucks to work with. the lowest NL cash game there is a max buyin of $5 at .10/.20 stakes, also for limit but the buyin is unlimited on those. As far as tournies go, there tournies cost more to buyin than a lot of other sites but you get better value with a smaller field of players and i like that. they have a 6k every sunday for $50 and a 1k every saturday for $10 (this is just a brief explanation of what im up against). The only sng's that are ever really played there are the $3.50 10 seaters besides the headsup games which people play at all buyin levels. So I figure that if I play the 3.50 sng's, then I would have to win 1 out of every 3 or even less to make any money. At the $5 buyin cash game it is hard to play .10/.20 with only 5 bucks. I dont have enough of a bankroll to stick to a 5% guideline either. What should i do in my situation? Should I grind it out or try to make some quick cash at a larger table and then go back down when i can do the 5% rule. Any suggesstions?

You cannot do anything that even remotely resembles BR management at True Poker with $4.

Cash games are almost out of the question. At 10/20c minimum NL games, you only have 20 BB. If they allow $2 buy-ins, you could try to gamble by entering a full-handed game with half your BR($2), waiting for a good hand and going all-in. If you win anything, even just the blinds, and you are above your $2 buy-in, leave the table and repeat the procedure.

A much better approach would be for you to play freerolls. Since you are poor, that fits your budget. If you accumulate enough freeroll winnings at a site to be able to play cash games or SNGs with BR management, then you have accomplished a big step. If you cannot do that, then your poker skills are not yet at the level where you can turn $4 into a fortune.

Actually I think your title might be a bit misleading, as it doesn't sound as though you have poor bankroll management - you just don't have enough money (yet)!

well i was playing some .10/.20 limit just a little bit ago and now im down to $36, man that table is a dawnting task. It's unbearable, absolutely no action at all. It was hard to stay out of a pot with the highest bet being .20, lol

Tournaments?

You have to divorce yourself from the money and think in terms of poker "units" (usually big bets in limit, and big blinds in NL). Instead of thining "twenty cents" think "four big blinds". Then, focus on making good poker decisions.

well updated from that, im up to $50 now play the .10/.20 NL for an hour, lol.
