Hey all,

Haven't posted but maybe once, but I know several of you come here to blow off steam, so I'm gonna give it a got. The last couple of days I've been played real well in the FR's at ultimate Bet and bodog. Haven't placed in the money, but close. I get lucky, play well, build a stack, then I get one bad beat and it throws me off completely. Then of course I get on tilt big time. Just like today. Playing the 500 FR at Bodog, got up to 25,000+ chips...I raise at least 3 times BB PF and am called. Flop comes, I have high pair, I make big bet, called, turn, no help, big bet, called. River, small card, seems to me to be no consequence, can't remember all the details, but I go all in, idiot calls and has something like 3/5 off suit and ends up with a straight. I believe I had A7 with 7 being the highest card on the board. So that drops me down to like 1200.

I worked my way back to 17,000, and just made another stupid call.....Man....ticked me off....

How do you keep from tilting?

And second, why do I seem to play better in the early rounds when the stakes are lower, and worse as the stakes & stacks get higher?

I know pretty vague, but thanks for listening...

I have a similar problem. I usually do well in the early rounds but then when the field evens out a bit around the bubble i begin losing my chips. Often i get into the money, but end up losing shortly after that.

A little advice. First definitely read some articles found on this site. Second,( remember this is my opinion) more often then not I do not play A 6,7,8, and 9 is questionable.A 2,3,4,5 only if it's a cheap flop or in a late position so I know I'm not getting reraised and throwing chips away. A10-K good, a2-5 both can give you straight potential. what can A 6 or A 7 give you? Now When your playing with 4 people or less, I might be willing to play lower or mid aces. That's just to start. The biggest thing you have to remember is that this is a freeroll. So, that said your 3x's the blinds might not be a high enough bet, per table you will need to discover what bet will be a good one. It might have to be 6 times the blinds. Also as you get further a long you must capitalize on your opponents misreads to build your bankroll. Get your money in only when you know you have the best hand and fold when you are definitely chasing without many outs. Gotta go but hope this is a starter and really read as many articles as possible. They help. Peace !!!

Thanks all, and I have done a lot of reading but can also do more. I have read Doyle's book and some others, all the online articles I can, but putting it into practice is another matter...LOL
