when i was playing at a 9 person table, in one minute period, about 6 of them left the table. does this sound like they could potentially been colluding or part of a team? how often do you out there see this type of behavior.

Im not sure how they gain any advantage leaving the table.

It sounds more like a site or connection problem to me.

Edit:I was assuming a 9 man SNG,at ring could be a different story!

Maybe the first one to go was the one spewing chips and the others decided to find another ATM?

maybe after 2 left the rest wanted to get on a full table

or as someone said before one guy was so bad it was the only reason the rest stayed there

you haven't played online poker very long. It's common for tables to break up. And it's usually due to the fish leaving which is why everyone else leaves. Quite common in online poker due to the fast pace of the game and the fact that there is always another juicy game going on.

well I supose that it was just a coincidence, and still...if they were a team, its a good thing that they have left, otherwise you should've played tight against them all:))... still I guess players leave table when they've had enough or its not a worthy table

I've also seen a bunch of people sit out/leave in a limit ring game where someone buys in for a lot more than the rest of the table, and a bunch of players sort of freeze up and start sitting out or leaving. Or it could be sheer coincidence too.

People also tend to get all nervous when they're used to full ring games and it gets down to 6 handed or so. They don't feel comfy playing short-handed and will just get up. I see this fairly frequently, so I wouldn't default to thinking collusion.

I see this happen often when a happy hour ends. Also, say on pokerstars, where there are occasionally bonus hands being played and a lot of people join a lot of tables as the time approaches then leave when the hand happens. As other have said, some people just like to play at full tables and when 2 or 3 people leave, they don't want to keep playing there. These all happen in the normal course, and are not suspicious.

That said, I have also seen teams of point colluders on PS leave at once.

If you come across something like this, check to see whether any of them have moved to another table or if they all left the site. If they are all suddenly gone, send the info off to the site and they can see if there's anything to your suspicions. The site can check whether the players are always on together and playing together. This could suggest a multiple-accounter as well.

There are innocent reasons this could happen and not-so-innocent.
