We recently spent two weeks in Durango, Co. We played several times at the Ute casino in Ignacio. And once at the other Ute casino in the area. We found it very strange that they have what they call a main table. Any other table that opens is considered a feeder table. after the main table fills up, a list is started for another. So far normal. but once a game is started on the 2nd table the list is maintained in the original order and as a vacancy comes on the main table the first person on the secondary list MUST move to the main table!!! You can't refuse or you are outta there and must leave!!!! I was playing with 5 others on the secondary table, a vacancy came on the main, and they made one of our players move leaving us with only four players!!! Is that not weird? Our table broke up. What is the logic of keeping one table full and four players idle?

Another oddity is that they play only one type of game per day. At Ignacio they play spread limit 2-5 five days a week. On Sunday and Thursday they play dealer's choice, which is almost always Omaha H/L. When we went on a Sunday they would not spread a NL for us and my husband does not play Omaha so we left. At the other Ute casino they were more accommodating, we would have made enough to start another table but would not play dealer's choice, so they started another table of NL with the understanding that when players were moved to the main, it was gonna be Omaha. So we played until it was our turn to be moved and then left. I couldn't get the pit personnel to commit for sure, but it sounded like they always have the dealer choice option going.

One last note, The Sky Casino at Ignacio is opening a beautiful new casino to replace the dirty, smelly one on Nov.4. Looks like it will be gorgeous. And will have an RV park, of great interest to us. I hope this will increase attendance. On one evening when we went to Ignacio, we waited an hour reading the paper and were the only two poker players to show. Finally at 8pm we sat at the black jack table. Won $70 between us, and left without our poker fix.

Yes, that is NOT weird. It is quite common in poker rooms in California and Nevada that may have a few more customers than they expected. We ran into that same thing in Reno during the last 2 Cardschat meetups. The idea is that they always want one full game since customers desire the game to be full. Then if they have a waiting list, why not make some rake from those people instead of having them mill around or walk away somewhere where they can't hear their name called. It is actually a smart business practice. Another reason to keep your short-handed skills sharp.

It's often called a "must move" game/table, and as noted, not that uncommon.

i disagree with the other 2 above me.... that is very weird in my mind and does nothing but break up chemistry and good conversations that may start up at tables.... maybe this is weird to me because i havent been to much casinos because i am still only 20 o_O hahaha

Sounds dumb to me. I wouldn't be a customer there for long.

the only really weird part is they took a player leaving only 4 since most won't keep a table going without 5...obviously not a problem in the bigger casinos but you would think they would think a bit more
