Stay Away From Spade Club

Hi, I'm writing this to warn people about the Spade Club site. This is not just sour grapes from poor finishes or bad beats. I actually placed 4th in this months 30k for $1500 so it is possible to win money on there, but have yet to see my check for 2 1/2 weeks. One other player on there told me he has been waiting for 7 weeks! I assume I will get paid eventually, but there are several other issues I have with the site.

One of the other problems is the software. In $500 daily tonight I literally could not bet! The bet button wasn't even there. I could call, fold or raise. I have a FH I have to check and hope some else bets so I can raise. Obviously not real helpful to my game. Then about a month back we were down to 300 or so in a bigger tourney and the whole site went down. A screen came up saying they would reschedule it. So the next night it's reopened for everyone and I'm starting over in a field of 1200 or so. Not a good solution!

The play on there is horrendous, which should be a good thing but it just doesn't seem to be on there. I won't bore you with all the bad beat stories because we all have enough. It is advertised as a learning site but I wouldn't even use it for that unless you want to learn how to play bad. The POY last year said he played 15 hours a day and made 1200 for the year, lol. I just wanted to warn others about Spade Club before they make the mistake to join. Thanks, McQ

PS. They also refuse to give out membership numbers or payout percentages. Would you play a $10+$8?

Personally, I wouldn't advise playing anything until you get your check first. If you really want to continue playing at this site, I would check around the web and see if withdrawal problems have happened with other people.

yeah i didnt know what to think about spadeclub anyways..
but i played there for a little while and thought it was kinda neat because of how different it is..and your not blowing much money

Thanks for the HU here. I`ve never heard of the site but thanks to this will not ever join it. GL on getting paid as well. Great finish in that event.

Space Club has a monthly membership fee and uses a point system to register for tourneys, so my membership was paid. TY for the feedback.

They advertise as being a place where you can "win money for free!" and as "not a gambling site," which sends up huge red flags IMO.

Sorry that you had a bad experience, but maybe your posting about it will get others to read the fine print or disclaimers or whatever, because NOBODY not called the US Government just pulls money out of thin air and gives it away without getting something in return.


My initial impressions of their commercials were 1) That's too damn good to be true, and 2) If by some off chance it WAS true, every donkey garbage player in the world would be there. Sounds like I was not too far off the mark?

puppyfeet, the ads are somewhat misleading, you pay $20 a month to play there and then they use a point system to buy into tourneys. If you look at my little ps on bottom I mention that they refuse to tell me what the memberships numbers are. With out this info it is impossibe to know what percentage actually is getting paid back to members. I told them until they disclose the number and quit censoring my blogs on the site about the subject I will blog on other forums to inform others about the site. Wow, that sounds pretty shady! Isn't that Club WPT site run a similar way?

I signed up for a free 30 day membership back a few months ago using a CardPlayer mag code. I placed a few times for points, and could never get cash. Allin donkfest every tourney on there.

I have been a member of SpadeClub for approx 6 months and have enjoyed myself to say the least. I am responding to this post because I have seen first and cashed checks. I have cashed out on 4 different occasions and recieved a check within 7/10 business days after the cashout. I can understand why some would be skeptical and have quesions but I am proof that the site does pay! I too have been in tourneys that have had problems and have had to be rescheduled but look at the bright side they have been rescheduled just like promised. I have recieved bad beats just like everyone else and ranked on the spoy list at 199 which is not great but fine with me. I don't make enough to quit my job but is spending money and I have fun making it. If SpadeClub is not for you I understand but it's not fair to SpadeClub or other members who have not had the chance to check it out for themselves to get discouraged or turned away by others experiences. Not only that but Quillan's check was mailed on 2-17-09 which was 2 days ago so he should give the mailman a chance to deliver it before he starts being negative about something apparently he knows nothing about. How do you know about his check? If you are an employee of the site, you should just come out and say so.

To dummies who think i am an employee of any site!!!

He himself told me that his check had been mailed while playing at the same table after referring me this blog. So there u go any more questions? I was just responding to his blog and defending what I know is incorrect, and if I had been an employee of this site you need to ask yourself would I have at all legally been able to play on the site? So before you post a comment make sure you have carefully thought out your comment!!!

I did think out my comment, and you answered my question.

When you come on with your first post, address it "To Whom This May Apply" like a business memo, and then give information about the date when the OP's check was cut, it sure makes it look like you were an employee of the site. Can you not see how you gave that impression??

I've seen lots of shills from different sites that have posted on CC trying to either attract new players or debunk rumors/accusations that have been posted about them, so forgive me of being suspicious when I read yours. As far as your advice goes about my posting, keep it for yourself. I didn't say anything derogatory or actionable in my post.

(BTW, there have been other widely-publicized occasions when employees have played at the sites that they worked for, and "legally" there's not much in the US that can be done about it, so no, it wouldn't surprise me if an employee was playing at some site they worked at.)

I would like to apolgize to puppyfeet for jumping the gun before knowing their intensions. Next I do thank you for understanding I am not an employee of SpadeClub or any other internet gambling site for that matter. I live in WV and never have had any dealings with any of them. I just enjoy playing on SC and if anyone is looking for somewhere to play I would just hope they would try it out for themselves rather than taking someones word for it. With that being said if you choose to play at SC I hope you get out what you put into it and if you choose to play elswhere the feeling is mutual. Gl to all and lots of winnings. P.S. Feel free to reply

It's obvious that you are an employee or have some invested interest in SpadeClub. The above quotes are your only three posts you have on CC to date. Not to mention that your profile isn't even filled out, except for where you play online. Anyone have any guess??? That's right, SpadeClub. Looks funny to me!!! Time and time again I hear these stories about not getting paid on some random small donk site. Stick to the big sites that have made a name for themselves and you wont have any problems!!! If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is!!

See what I mean puppyfeet!!! This is what I was talking about someone who acts like they know me and has no clue is to who I am or where I play or what I do for a living. If anyone and I mean anyone who thinks I am an employee of SpadeClub think again, please think again. I am not now nor ever have been. I am simply just someone who enjoys playing there and would do the same for any site who I feel someone is being negative towards when I personally know is incorrect. I was directed by McQuillan while playing on a table at SC less than one week ago to this CardsChat site. I needed to make a username in order to respond to what he had written and that is why I only have posts on this comment. After reading his post I went back to the table and explained to him that he should be patient b/c I had previously requested checks and they did come. He responded to that by saying that his check had just been mailed. That is when I came back saying that he was incorrect by jumping the gun and his check had been mailed. I am only one person who enjoys playing at SC because of the extras they have and the people who play there. If anyone would even bother to check out my profile or history on SC it would show I am only a basic player and have only been a member for 6 months. Now for the larger sites if you choose to play there then thats fine but if we and by we I mean every online poker player only played on them then there would be no competition for them to compete with, so they would not have to compete for your business and they would just do what they wanted as for any monopoly. I could careless if one other person signed up for SC and would not bother me in the least if it shut down today because for one I would just find somewhere else to play and the other is I am not an employee for them so therefore its not my main source of income. I work as a teller in a bank actually and would not work for any online gambling site and that's the truth and don't care if anyone believes me. P.S. Feel free to respond with more acuasations as I am sure you will lol

O yes I almost forgot I did not know of the profile on here or I would have updated earlier but now I know it would make no difference because people will assume either way. So I will not be updating that because it's not necessary to do so in order to answer any blogs, posts, or any other aquasations. You might want to ask yourself though why hasn't McQuillan posted anything since this whole thing started. Maybe you could ask him for an update I mean he is the horse so why not hear it straight for the horses mouth!!!!

Ok, first off, I said you sell SpadeClub about as good as the Sham Wow guy. Which I thought was funny. I didn't say you played better than the Sham Wow guy, I've never seen you or him play poker. However, My money is on the Sham Wow guy!!!

I didn't say anything about poker stars, so I don't understand how you are calling me a hippocrit. I said the big sites that have made a name for themselves. That could mean Poker Stars, yes, but there are others like Full Tilt, UB, AP ect. I just prefer Poker Stars, keep in mind I didn't pitch them or mention their name, you did!!!

Wow, you are missing the whole point!!! And yes, it appears that you have something to do with SC. You sign up for a Forum to come to SC's defence. You don't fill out anything in your profile except for where you play online, which isn't required. Your only posts on CC are in this thread. They either defend SC or they are about you not having anything to do with SC.

I could care less if you have anything to do with SC. I just thought it was funny how Puppy Feet got you all excited. I thought I'd stir the pot, I guess it worked!!! Also with you being so defensive about not being with SC in any way, makes me think you have something to do with them, maybe you're the CEO or something???

Wow puppyfeet, you really get worked up for being a basic member! For those of you that don't know, basic membership is free and allows you to enter some very small freerolls. The person defending the site so strongly does not even pay $20 for membership? Must not be that great of a deal I guess!
