Let's say I was about to put 50 dollars onto any site. I was wondering what sites you would recommend for bonuses and other things. Is there a easier site to make money on. I was also wondering how to use this money. Should I go into sit n' gos or should I try tables with low levels? I have played poker for about a year but only recreationally. All input would be great. Thanks

There isnt a massive difference between the players on any site. pokerstars gives a 100% deposit bonus up to $50, and the $1 45 players sit and goes are a treat.

Any bonus you get at the lower limits will be slow to clear though, bear that in mind

To make your playing experience more enjoyable I suggest you read the bankroll management thread in the "Golden Archive" section. This will get you thinking about managing you roll from day 1.

I've personally found that CostaDelPoker is a great site to build a roll on due to fishy players at the lower limits. However, at the right table on Stars you can do just as well.

Good luck.

With $50, other than Stars you are not going to get much in the way of deposit bonuses - but once you build it up to $500, you could do the $100 5x bonus at Party and/or Empire (assuming that signup bonus is still active), which is a piece-o-cake to clear.

LEARN ABOUT THE RULES FOR GETTING THOSE BONUSES !!!!!

To my knowledge NO site just doubles your money instantly.
You earn that bonus in a variety of ways, but usually it is a rake or vig type thing. In ring games, for every hand you are involved in, you get x cents credited toward releasing a part of the bonus. For tourneys it is a fixed amount dependant on how many players and how big of a buy in.

The act of earning that credit toward releasing a part of your bonus is refered to as 'clearing' and you might search this site and others for particulars.

Ring games appear to earn at a faster rate than tourneys.
