Okay, this is a question aimed at a very small audience, so please bear with me if you're not part of the geographic area this covers. There's a company that puts on NL Holdem tourneys in bars and restaurants in quite a few venues in various areas, including Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and New York.

Has anyone on here ever attended one of their games? I realize it's probably a long shot that anyone here is in the right area to have done so but just on the off chance, if you've been to a game of theirs how is it run?

The site says it's free to play, I suppose they get some type of kickback from the restaurant or bar depending on food and beverage sales.

I live in Columbus Ga. We have poker tournaments everynight somewhere in this town. There are about 80-100 people who are regular players.
You go in, write your name on the sign up sheet and they assign you a table. It's completely free to play and the 1st prize is usually $100.
They make their money with the food/drinks we buy. If you spend a certain amount of money, (I think it's $10) you get a voucher for an extra chip worth $1000.
As people are out, the tables are condensed until there's the final table. I think the name of the organization that runs these events is Nationwide poker tour or Extreme poker.
If you finish in the top 20 players, you get a certain amount of points.
Every quarter they have a big tournament for the people with the most amount of points. They give away money, tv's etc....

Not sure how your place does it, but I'd bet it's similar.

I play bar poker in Virginia.. I dunno if it's the same league your talking about, because they only play in VA, not the other states you mentioned. If you want the webpage that has all the info just pm me and I will send it to you.
It's mostly like freerolls for points (top 16 get points in each game, and if you bust out they do 50 point side games), as there are nightly prizes, but its only 25$(10$ towards online store and 15$ giftcard to the bar) for first in the first game and 10$ bar gift card in the second game. But if you are in the top half of the points at the end of the month you can go to the monthly tournament where it pays the final table :
1st Place - $350 Buy-in to WSOP Regional Championship (Ring Event in AC) Or
$250 ECPL GIFT CARD Or
$200 Walmart Gift Card (All Chops are $200)
2nd Place - $50 Walmart
3rd Place - $25 Walmart
4th Place - $10 ECPL
5th Place - $10 ECPL
6th Place - $10 ECPL

Than there is a longer like 10 month leaderboard where top player gets a $1000 wsop buyin and top 150 from or so play a 4 day Tourney for a $1000 buyin.

There's also another league that plays a little farther from my house. They play at Colonial Downs horse track ( 5 or so times last summer) but only have 1 day set up this year so far, July 23rd. This league than plays at a bar afterwards for 100$ and I think might play other places, but I only go to the horse track ones and one time the bar after.

That league is too far for me, but the first league has multiple locations a night, one being close to my house 3 times a week.
