I have noticed that Stars has changed how it gives out FPP's it has adopted a similar style to Full Tilt, so you dont need to have atleast a $8 pot to get a FPP Should help the micro grinders gather some points.

Pretty good feature tbh.

thoughts?

If Stars ever created a rakeback program for existing players, they would greatly increase their profits.

Cool. When did they change it? I don't play often on stars. Was just playing some micro cash last night and noticed I had .26 FPP lol.

I agree, it's great not to have to be involved in a 8$ pot to get some points :)

And I also agree it would be greater it they finally allow rakeback ;)

Yeah, it helped me finally complete my first deposit bonus. Without the change, I'd still be plugging away at it -- slowly.

I thought you always could get fpp from small pot. I think they just show the partial fpp now. Because i've only been playing 5/10 NL and managed to get 500 FPP from mainly 1-3 pots.

This is definitely a step in the right direction for stars. A link or something would be appreciated though so we can read the news if available.
Thanks for the info!

I will try to find an artcile on this. i only said this because i have noticed the .34 on my FPP status. GKH i dont think they used to give you FPP for small pots just one for when it reached $8 on lower limits and $20 on higher limits.

Excerpt from http://www.pokerstars.com/vip/earn/

*The standard VPP award scheme applies to all cash ring game tables not listed below
VPP are awarded differently at some PokerStars cash game tables. Tables offering this award structure include:
  • ’1-on-1’ tables for all games
  • All ‘6-max’ tables for the following games:
    • No Limit Hold’em
    • Pot Limit Hold’em
    • Pot Limit Omaha
    • Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo
Over the coming weeks, all newly created tables of these types will use the new VPP award structure. During this transition, some old tables will continue to award VPP based on the Standard Tables award scheme.
VPPs at these tables are based on the total rake collected at the table, and the number of players dealt into the hand. Like in tournaments, at these tables VPPs are awarded at the rate of 5 VPPs for each $1.00 in rake collected. The total VPPs for that hand are then divided equally among the players who were dealt into that hand. Fractional VPPs will be awarded in hundredths. Please see these examples:
EXAMPLE 1: In a $3/$6 ‘6 max’ No Limit Hold’em game, six players are dealt in, and the rake is $3.00. With $3.00 rake, 15 total VPPs are awarded. Each of the six players dealt into the hand would receive 2.50 VPPs.
EXAMPLE 2: In that same $3/$6 ‘6 max’ No Limit Hold’em game, five players are dealt in and the rake is $2.00. With $2.00 rake, 10 total VPPs are awarded. Each of the five players dealt into the hand would receive 2.00 VPPs.
EXAMPLE 3: In that same $3/$6 ‘6 max’ No Limit Hold’em game, three players are dealt in and the rake is $1.00. With $1.00 rake, 5 total VPPs are awarded. Each of the three players dealt into the hand would receive 1.67 VPPs.
EXAMPLE 4: In a $0.25/$0.50 ‘6 max’ No Limit Hold’em game, with six players dealt in, if the pot size is $6.00, the rake would be $0.30. With $0.30 rake, 1.5 VPP would be awarded. Each of the six players dealt into the hand would receive 0.25 VPPs.

Important Note: In all cash ring games, points are credited at the end of a hand. So if you leave a table before the hand is completed, you may not receive the VPP for that hand. To ensure that you are properly credited, please ‘Sit Out’ until the start of the next hand, and then leave the table.

BTW, this is not the way FullTilt awards points. FTP awards 1 point per $1 of rake to all players dealt cards, regardless of how many where involved. So PS and FTP only give the exact same number of points when 5 players exactly are dealt cards. For 6 or more, FTP gives more points, for 4 or less, PS gives more.

A priori, the change looks like a good deal for microplayers as well as for HU and 6max players, and a pretty poor deal for full ring players.

qft.

Kind of makes me want to learn some 6max play...

btw they added this to the vpps for micro FR and limit fr players.

  • Full Ring Limit tables up to 25c/50c
  • Full Ring No-Limit tables up to 5c/10c

I am going to create a tournament reward system and present it to pokerstars. They will love it so much they will implement it and give me a bunch of free entries to the Sunday million which I will eventually win.
