Hi guys,
I have a big problem with my Stars account.

Today I recieved email from pokerstars that :
Hello,Due to your close association with the player '................ ', we have closed your account.
Please understand this policy is in place to protect the integrity of our games.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

What can I do please? It is account of my brother. We have never played in the same Tournament. Maybe problem is that we play from the same IP address. But not in the same tournament or in the same table, Never.
I send this information to pokerstars, but account is still closed
Do you think that they will open my account ?

Hello.
Give explanations to PokerStars support and maybe they unlock your account. Unfortunately, I also had a similar problem, and even when I provided explanations and photo documents to confirm my identity, they did not unlock my account. Currently my akuten in poker stas is still blocked.

How did you think that this would not happen?
Did you not read the TOS?
Did you not simply use common sense?

It's cheating.

He and his brother both play from same ip address - that is cheating, period.
It is against the TOS - clearly.

So what can I do?

Nothing.
You can ask them to send you your balance and you might get it.
Did they ban your brother too?

You will need to get a new account and not register from the same IP address.
You may have to move to a new location....

There is a possibility that you will lose your account. But it all depends on how convincingly you prove it and ask for it. Promise them that the brother will no longer play from your computer. If you have never played together in tournaments or on a cache at one table, then there is a probability of unlocking. They must request copies of your documents. And, of course, there will be a letter to your brother's email address to request documents.Read the terms of the PokerStars agreement where it's written about such cases.

I dont agree with this...
It is totally crazy. Because they can find that we have never played in the same table or in the same tournaments.
I wrote them 4 emails, but all the time the answer me that my account is closed and I cant play anymore.
I dont understand it. It is not fair. Because it is not cheating from me :(

If you and your brother are sharing the same IP address, it would be a good idea to contact PokerStars and explain your situation. They will give you an answer one way or another.

You need to ask them to get the answers.

Clearly you don't know what you are saying, I know of CC members that are married to each other and both have accounts at more than one site and they with the blessing of the sites can play from the same IP address, they even played the same CC games at the same time.

Even my missus and I have accounts at Stars from the same IP address.

:top:
So when Liv Boeree and Igor Kurganov play poker in the same house, they are cheating?

I couldn't find anything about using the same IP address:

https://www.pokerstars.com/poker/room/tos/

That's because there isn't anything against it in the TOS

Yes, they are....

Obviously

How so.

:hmmmm:

As you've described the situation this is NOT cheating. Pokerstars does allow family members in the same household to have their own accounts. I'd suggest that you continue trying to explain the situation to them. The following is the Pokerstars official policy on this matter:
"Can family members also have an account

There is no problem if your family or friends would like to create a Stars Account with us. We welcome friends and family to join our community and play on our site. All they need to do is create a Stars Account with their real name and use their own email address.

To install our software they can visit the 'Download & Play' section from our website. Afterwards, in order to start the registration process they will simply need to launch the program and click on the 'Create Account' button on the main lobby.

If at some point during the registration an error message is displayed stating no more accounts can be created, please ask them to send us an email mentioning your Stars ID to let us know an additional account is required.

Finally, if your family or friends live in the same household as you, please let us know about any new Stars Accounts, so we can ensure our Security Team does not think they are duplicates of your own account since duplicate accounts are not permitted and will be immediately closed when identified."

BTW, my wife and I both have Pokerstars accounts. And yes, in case anybody is wondering, we do live together. I also have two cousins who live together in the same household and both regularly play the Sunday Storm at the same time from the same household. Members in the same household ARE allowed to play in the same MTT per Pokerstars policy below:

  • Players who live in the same household, whatever their relationship, must not play at the same cash game table or in the same Sit & Go tournament.
  • In some cases, this restriction will be imposed automatically by the game software.
  • This restriction does not apply to scheduled Multi-Table Tournaments (MTTs) or 2-player heads-upmatches.

These Pokerstars policies are common sense and as you would hope and expect them to be.

although they had no problem taking my money for two years while i played, it was only after i stopped spending money there that they perma banned me (and not just me, my entire family lol.. bunch of *****s)

When you do contact them, send in your ID documents and get your brother to do the same from his email address, you need to prove that you are not the same person.

New email from Stars:

Hello Paul,

Thank you for your e-mail.

*

There is no problem with having family members creating their own accounts, however if there is a problem on one of the members accounts, due to your close relations, the chance your account will becomes restricted until the issue on their account is resolved is high. This is so you do not access each others accounts until the issue is resolved.*

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Hi
before playing on the room ... with two accounts ... you had to ask permission from the poker stars service ...
I know people who play after the permission of the security service ...
now you only need to wait for a solution ...

Well shit, I stand corrected.

However, I will say that I completely disagree with allowing more than 1 account per household.

Far too easy to cheat.

But look. They can check that we didnt play in the same tournaments and in the same table.
So why it is problem? Why for example you dont agree with it.

I believe that pokerstars will completely check it snd they will reopen my account.
Because I am sure that there is no reason to close it.
