I know this is a really weird thing to happen but I have a stalker on pokerstars. I was playing a cash game and a player said something crude. Not profane, sexist or discriminatory. The person took exception and called the moderator. Before the moderator comes the player apologizes and of course everyone has an opinion on what was said/how it could be/could not be offensive. The mod comes and reminds everyone that each player has the ability to mute. Play resumes and the person who was offended continues to tell everyone how it made her feel. I finally type in and tell her that it wasn't offensive to me and I am a woman. I also tell her that her continued talking about something which at this point is 15 hands later is making her appear like a drama queen. Here comes the mod again. Reminds us to mute which I do. The moderator returned to our table 4 times before I finally got disgusted and left. I went to another table. Here comes my woman stalker who sits in but doesn't play any hands. Talks terrible stuff saying I have something against "african americans" and "germans". I mute. Since this time, everytime I play PS this person finds me. Sometimes she sits in the game and sometimes not. I can mute when she is in the game but if she observes I don't have the ability to mute. I have blocked access to people locating me so she is individually finding me. Short of changing my screenname, any suggestions on what to do? I may end up changing it anyway and just notifying friends and family of new name but I just don't see how this whole thing became so L A R G E. It is incredibly annoying. Next time I am keeping my mouth shut!

If it gets worse...just report them in an email to pokerstars.

I've had similar things happen to me. Its usually when I've dealt out a bad beat to someone and they start getting mouthy. They usually raised big with a donk hand or I had a superior hand and in their minds "i should have" folded given the pot odds or whatever other reason comes to their mind that is convenient.

I usually just make a note of them and ignore them...sometimes I try to remember key things that maybe I can use to tilt them sometime.

The creepiest thing is when you have someone looking up your stats from somewhere and they are reciting your win/loss rate or whatever. And I mean in alot more detail then what pocker tracker would give you (which I use). I don't know how the sites get around the privacy implications of their information being disclosed to sites like that.

If you have your mute on, you can't read what they're saying. I usually just click on another tab like 'notes' or 'info' so I can't view that chat, but I want to keep it on so I can say things like 'NH' or 'GG' for example.

Anyway, just ignore her. You have a right to say what you wish on the table (as long as its within rules and regulations), so if you have an opinion, don't be afraid to speak it. You should laugh about this, this woman is going out of her way to seek you out, sit at your table, and for what? Something as stupid as you having a different opinion about something. She is wasting her own time and thats it. Don't let it psych you out.

In fact, you could use this to your advantage, you know. This woman is obviously upset at you for your opinions on the matter. If she keeps bringing it up, stick to what you said. Don't be rude or anything. This will probably tilt her/make her more upset. If she is playing at the same table, its perfect for you because you can set her up to lose all her money to you. If you've upset a person, especially at a table, they're going to try and get revenge anyway they can. This could be through chat, following you around, and maybe trying to beat you with a bad hand/bluffing you. You most likely can get them to pay you off on your big hands because they want to do onto you what you did them (upset them). So, if anything, this is a blessing in disguise in my opinion. Keep you upset at you, keep your tilted, and take her money.

Just post her screen name here and we will all harass her from time to time if we find her:)

I'd just ignore her. Don't ever comment about her presence and she'll eventually get bored and go away.

Hide from search feature on Stars works fairly well

I've never had or heard of a poker room stalker. I would imagine using the block for searching on the software would work the best, if not, I agree don't pay any attention to the chat.

I think OP said she blocked access to search and the individual was actually finding her individually, which sounds really really pathetic to me. But I agree that you should take advantage by playing your strong hands hard against her. And you should post her screenname :D

thats really weird but you could consider changing your username if all else fails, pokerstars support should be able to deal with it, though mute always works.

Again I agree post her name, lol but contact support, maybe they have a program that would prevent her from entering or observing a room you are in.
If she is not tilting you ignore her.

How flattering! I know it is for the wrong reasons, but this individual certainly has a lot of time on her hands!

That is a crazy online poker story if I ever heard one. Please keep us informed how it turns out!

i agree with philty use this to your advantage when she comes to a tble dont be mean but start getting her on tilt if she wants to start talking about the situation that happened b4 then change it to all about poker and just keep you opinion but eventually if you just keep talking about poker she will think "oh ok well let me try and take her chips" so she will call you just about everytime you call......good thing for you

Doesn't Pokerstar let you turn off observer chat? I don't play PS that much but most other sites let you do that. and I agree with the majority of the posts here. Post the screenname.

First off let me say...I would use her attitude and talking to an advantage IF she would play hands. She doesn't. She just comes in the game and sits out and talks. Or, she observes and talks. I did contact support to request guidance. I felt like a little kid telling "mom" but I really was at a loss on how to stop it. I did try to engage her in a conversation on why her behavior was so bad but she just kept telling me (and the other players) how I felt about other nationalities, colors and even how I was a man hater, woman hater and probably only had sex with animals and the elderly. Anyway, support has emailed me and told me that they have corresponded with the stalker and believe it will not happen again. If it does, I am to copy the chat and send to them directly. They also advise to contact a moderator who will also document the situation. I have now changed my screenname and PokerStars has transferred my balance to my new name and given me $15.00 for this situation since they don't condone this behavior. Large lesson learned now....there are not just donks in online poker rooms but crazy people too!!! Thank you all for your support and encouragement.

Good to see this has been sorted out. I guess we learned that some people take things way too seriously, and that poker stars support rocks!

Amazing some people....they can take something fun and ruin it for you. I would stay hidden on Pokerstars and if she keeps it up contact the moderator everytime. Sounds like she needs a life...tell her to get one!

MakMan....I believe she was scanning the rooms individually to locate me. It is the only plausible explanation for her finding me after I turned off the player locater. However, this is a mute issue for me now since I have a new screenname. I played in a game last night and she was in the room. I kept my mouth shut and relieved her of $3.27...I just wish I could have been a bit witchy to her but it is not worth my effort. Taking her money was enough satisfaction.

Wow, another clear reason how Poker Stars support is top notch. Glad it got resolved.
